Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Pedicini.
Hi Adam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up as a kid, I was always filled with lots of energy and loved being outside. For me, my real joy and essence of who I am meant being physical and exploring the world with my own eyes. I’ve always add a willingness to try new things and explore a passion or interest that I’m experiencing. There’s been no specific lineage to where I am today but the one thing that has stayed true is always being open to new opportunities and trying new things. I’ve traveled all over the world worked in many different industries not because I didn’t know what I wanted but because I did know what I wanted and that was the exploration of the world and seeing where my life would go.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Growing up and being at school was a struggle as I found it difficult to be in the school environment and learning. I was far more a doing learner; I needed to be on my feet. As a result, I really thrived in sports and being physical. For most of my life being physical and on my feet is how I have been able to create a career as a professional dancer and performer. As the years have gone on though as much as I love that side of myself, I’ve realized I needed to go deeper and truly understand the person that I was because of the trauma that I experienced as a child. Now as a parent, I fully understand the magnitude of where we need to go to truly understand ourselves. It’s a journey I’ve been on for roughly five years now and I’m only just coming to terms with the person that I am, my unconscious mind and how I relate to other people.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I truly believe to this point I’ve lived a unique life and so as a performer and fitness professional, I’m able to give a perspective on the world through many lenses. As a trainer, I understand and acknowledge that physical and mental development is something we need to do for the rest of our lives so I’m continually searching for ways to help improve my own life but also the people that I coach. Performance allows me that expression and allows me an avenue for storytelling and sharing the sometimes hilarious and other times traumatic experiences on the stage.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
COVID has been devastating for a lot of people and it’s so sad to see the amount of loss it’s caused and the divide it’s created. But personally, it’s reinforced the message of how important it is to stay physically healthy and mentally strong. There Hass to be a sense of personal survival ability and skill that we acquire enable to go from day to day knowing that if there was no one else looking after me I truly would be able to look after myself. And as hard as this pandemic has been in the back of my mind, I’ve been reassured but I can look after my family and myself and we will be OK. Hopefully, more people will now appreciate the importance of being able to be self-sufficient, aware of their internal dialogue I know that the end of the day, we need to make sure we can survive.
