Meet Rahul Nath

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahul Nath.

Hi Rahul, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started as a dancer, which led me into acting and also choreography, which really was an extension of the dancing. I appeared in a few shows in the UK, but somehow for me, I did not feel that I was reaching my full potential. My agent at that time suggested a few acting courses that I should take in Los Angeles. And when I got to LA, I saw the endless amount of work that was available to me and the opportunities that were not within my reach in the UK. When I decided to transition over to the USA, my career in all facets of entertainment took off. I began teaching dance classes, which led to choreography opportunities. I was cast in hit TV shows that spanned over several networks, and as for commercials, it was literally non-stop. I was in a BIG campaign each and every year for at least five years. I then began my own production company called ‘Nik/Nak Productions’ and that led to me making my own movies, TV shows and webseries for both a USA and international market. In addition, a career in the Bollywood industry and other major cinemas of India opened up to me, which resulted in me working internationally across the globe between USA, India and the UK. And to top it off, I recently became a brawn model due to the encouragement of the awesome – Miss Tyra Banks.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

I don’t feel smooth is the way to describe it, but what career is smooth? I had to sacrifice a lot of my personal life to achieve gains in my professional life, not that I would have it any other way, but it made me realize how much I love the industry, be it acting, directing, writing and dancing. I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to lead my life and not be stuck in something that I would dread having to wake up in the morning for. And believe me, I have been in non entertainment jobs that have paid extremely well, but the thought of doing it for the rest of my life was enough for me to step away. This is what made me realize that I love the industry in more ways that I could ever have known – I left a profession in dentistry, which was nothing but dark and sad and left me completely destroyed before I found my safe haven in the world of entertainment.Has it been rough? I don’t think for me it has, because I had it very rough when I was a dentist (which is explained in detail in my new book ‘F$cked Up Dental Sh#t’ releasing Mar 2022).

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an actor/writer/director/dancer and what I specialize in is ALL of these areas. I am known for each and every one of these disciplines. I have been in the local grocery store and someone has said ‘Oh you are Rahul – the dancer’ and similarly I have been at the airport and someone has said ‘Oh you’re an actor right? I saw you in…’ so I would say I am known for all of these things. I am most proud that I took the leap from a very stable and highly educated degree to the unknown that is the entertainment industry and have been super successful at it. And what sets me apart is that I keep morphing to adapt and change to the demands of the industry.

I could have easily just been an actor who ‘acts’ but for me, I know my potential is much more that includes film making, scriptwriting and also creating content that led me to create my own production company – Nik/Nak Productions. So all in all, I am unstoppable and can reach higher, even what I can imagine.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I lived in a suburb of London, UK growing up and to be honest I didn’t have much in common with most people. While most people in my circle be it at high school, college and university were focused on things that I had no interest in, my focus was on how can I get into the entertainment industry and achieve my dream of doing what it is that I want to do and what I meant to do. It’s not like I didn’t have friends, some of my best friends are from the UK, but at the same time, I have lost contact with 90% of people from my past because we are just not on the same path in life and how they approach life and want from it, is very different to what I want and how I approach it. Los Angeles for me will always be my home because it truly is where I found my tribe and where I get to live my passion and dreams. I have found the best people in the world here, who will always be friends for life, because we all are here, without our families, so we all become each other’s families.
