Today we’d like to introduce you to Cesar Valentino Valdizan.
Hi Cesar Valentino, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started with a desire and dream when I was a kid living in Peru. I wanted to do something amazing for myself, family, my country and the world. I also had these desires, to make a great living and to travel while making a great living; and I wanted my work to facilitate them. I figured later that being an entrepreneur would fulfill those desires.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur has been easy and also difficult. It’s too broad to go into so I will share something more specific. I always enjoyed making money and creating opportunities to make money. At a young age, I always sought those opportunities. But, I didn’t have guidance and society has a way of wanting to shape people’s career paths. I wasted a lot of time doing the whole school thing. I’m anti-formal education now because it isn’t for everyone. I don’t blame society for wasting my time, but I do advocate the redefining of the entire educational system to avoid wasting time. I’m one of the first to callout any type of belief that a formal education is key to making money, I believe it is a desire to educate yourself that makes you successful at making money and creating successful businesses. So, a challenge was going into the school of real life at the age of adulthood, unprepared because of the years of time wasted in formal schools at the age of non-responsibility.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an entrepreneur at its core. I am a dreamer and executioner. If I like it, I will get involved in it and make business out of it. Currently, I am involved in the health & beauty industry, fashion, music and retail industries, to name a few. I enjoy persevering and have shifted all my focus on the journey instead of the money. Yes, money is fun when it comes, but the journey of seeing my passions struggle and thrive is more empowering than any financial outcome can bring me. The journey is individual and will set anyone apart. The journey is my true wealth. The journey inspires me to believe and I love the personal competition that it creates in me to keep expanding who I am as an entrepreneur.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always clever and loved a good laugh. I was mischievous. I was flirty and liked girls, but even more than girls I liked working on my business ideas. I loved life and loved the opportunities to enjoy life that were out there, in any shape or form. This shaped me and shapes me. Life is to be enjoyed daily. And as a grown up I’ve learned to enjoy even in things I didn’t use to enjoy, so I feel, young or older, that I’m winning.
