Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Howard.
Hi Elijah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story began while watching a Tv special on the Pop Entertainer Michael Jackson, I was singing before learning about him, but I then started to get lots of people telling me I have his sound or his looks. That INSPIRED me so much! To be compared to MICHAEL JACKSON makes me push even harder just the same way he did. Singing has always been a passion of mine, jump to three years after learning about MJ, I find out He Has a Baby Sister named JANET JACKSON, an ABSOLUTE Icon!! I finally decided to put my Talent to the test and started recording my First Album “The Summer Of 1997” in 2016. I was finding my sound and a great producer by trial and error to achieve the sound I wanted.
Watching Michael & Janet Jackson create their Masterpieces while Breaking So many Records before I was even born was just so Amazing! Such a huge IMPACT on the Entertainment Industry. I am Working my way up into the public eye, and People are starting to pay attention. See it, Believe it, Achieve It. Is what I live by. You have to work hard for What you want to do, if it’s Easy, It’s Not worth it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There’s never really a smooth journey in anything you do, challenges always arise. From people saying they don’t like your sound, from your friends believing in you at first and then slowly fading away, from others telling me I’m wasting my money on studio time, driving back-and-forth with little to no gas in my car but I had to make my studio sessions. And then sometimes you get to the studio and the session definitely doesn’t go as planned it gets very frustrating. Some of your family thinks your wasting your time, You notice some friends will support another right in your face, and when it’s your turn to get support there’s nothing. As I’m slowly evolving into who I wanna become, it’s becoming easier to dodge what I wasn’t able to dodge at first. You have to be your biggest fan. A lot of the time, it’s your own mind that sets you back, Sometimes even your family drama might try and distract you from what you have to do in your life, we’re all human we all have problems. The best thing I can say to you if you’re reading this is to stay focused!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
People may know me as an amazing singer, vocal stacking expert, most people pair me with my music when they hear my harmonies and melodies. The different variations of them I bring to my music set me apart from so many other artists. Also, if I don’t write the song I will not sing it. I have to sing what I write, so It can come from my heart. I feel like when your supporters listen to you, you are connected in a way. I want my supporters to know what I’m singing about has everything to do with my feelings and what My life is like. I believe Music is a body of work, when you’re creating you have to get out of people telling you, oh that’s too many vocals, or that won’t sound right here, lots of producers try and get in the way of that sometimes but I have to make it very clear sometimes that that’s my music, and that’s what I’m known for, They then hop on board and realize that it sounds really great. Aside from music I am a Director, a Writer, an Actor, and Dancer. I’ve written a 10 episode series that is now in the filming stage entitled “Easton High” that’s my show, and we have attracted so many supporters and fans and haven’t even put out an episode yet. The cast and crew is amazing. I have so many new projects coming and I can’t wait for you to see them, the goal is to stay busy!
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
