Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Anthony.
Hi Todd, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My acting journey was birthed out of pain and confusion. I was going through a divorce at a young age and I was working at a job that didn’t pay much on top of being emotionally draining. I got to a place where I was tired of the way my life was seemingly headed. I took a detailed look at my life and realized that I had a lot to offer the world creatively. From October of 2009 to now, I haven’t looked back or stopped sense. I started in Philadelphia (where I’m from) doing independent and stage projects. I would take classes in New York during the week while still working at that same job. In 2013, I decided to quit my job and move to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time. I have been blessed to work and build relationships with those who I credit to helping me get to where l man. The late Dustin Felder and Don B. Welch were and have been instrumental in my early Journey. Most importantly, God has been the driving force behind and in front of everything I do.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t know if there is a smooth road to success. For me, It has been rewarding and challenging. To be completely honest, I think the hardest part can be the “feeling” of not seeing the rewards of the work you’re putting out. You can audition a thousand times or work with some great people on amazing projects and still be struggling to make ends meet. For someone in my position, who has a wife and children, it can weigh on you if you allow it. That’s where faith has to play its part. You have to have faith that your career, your finances and your situation will be better than it currently “feels” like. The biggest struggle one will ever have in life is the war of the mind. Once you conquer your thoughts, you conquer life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist through and through. My trade is acting but I simply love to create. I enjoy making things that bring joy or happiness to people. I’m aware that people know me for my acting ability or projects I’ve been in but I hope people will remember me for the hope and joy I left with them. As far as what I’m most proud of, It would be my family and the legacy that I’m creating for my children. My children will be able to see my work many years from now and say “That’s my Dad”.
My latest projects include “Fels High” releasing 2022. “Black lightning“ Season 4 on Netflix. “Malcolm” (which I wrote and produced), “Influence” and “Angrily Ever After” all streaming on BET+.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a fun loving kid who loved to make people laugh and play sports. I’ve always been the one to joke around or impersonate people. Never did I think It would translate to acting. I truly believe that basketball was my end goal but God clearly had other plans.
