Inspiring Conversations with Rick Dominguez of Ricks Produce Market

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rick Dominguez.

Hi Rick, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in 2007 working for a friend’s farm selling avocados and citrus at local farmer’s markets. In 2014 I started my own company and got my own farm. In 2017 we opened our first store in East Hollywood. In 2021, we opened our second store at the original farmers market.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being undocumented and growing up in East LA was the toughest part of my life because nothing was sure. I couldn’t get a normal job nor apply for any company. So I worked with what I had. I focus on making my own future and started my own company.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We’re basically a farmer’s market seven days a week. Everything we sell is from our farm or local family farms. Everything is seasonal and California grown. We focus on local economy, community outreach and offer other small businesses sell their items through us.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Helping as much people as possible through my company.
