Hi Seranie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi I’m Seranie Ruiz, a self-taught artist & business owner from Long Beach, Ca. Paint 2 Gather LLC was established in 2019. We are a mobile Paint Party service. We best serve Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, and surrounding areas.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest but most rewarding bump in the road has been over the 2020 Pandemic. The business definitely took a hit back in March 2020. Being a business owner was still a very new concept for me and I didn’t know how to maneuver through the challenges I would face. Luckily I have a lot of great friends and family in my corner. Many reached out and offered suggestions on how to keep the business going. One idea took months for me to start up. It can be scary trying something new but I’m so glad that I did. I decided to start teaching classes virtually over Zoom. Once that got really busy, customers started to ask about supply options. Next thing you know, I’m selling Art Supply Bundles along with Virtual Lessons. Business has picked up ever since and my clientele has doubled. I’ve met so many people all over the US this past year and a half! I would have never imagined that the business would get to where it is now, prior to the pandemic but I couldn’t be more grateful for the continuous love and support.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Paint 2 Gather LLC?
I am an artist first and foremost, so “I’m sensitive about my sh**”. I want to go above and beyond to make sure that all of the sample paintings are a representation of my work. We value quality over quantity so we take our time to make sure that the Host loves their customized sample painting prior to the event. Customization is what makes this business so fun. If you have an idea, we can definitely create it with our own P2G twist. I love it when everyone feels connected to what they are painting. Our clients always leave feeling good about the experience they had and that’s why I love doing what I do.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Make sure to get involved with like-minded individuals on Instagram. You can find a network of people at your fingertips on social media. Sometimes I follow certain hashtags that interest me for example: #Painting or #Paintandsip, and I’ll get to see similar posts like mine that use the hashtag.
