Life & Work with Kadeem Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadeem Johnson.

Hi Kadeem, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off as a model agent interning for a company in NY when I was a senior in College. The company then hired me full-time as an assistant and then I worked my way up. To now working for a new company here in LA. I started shooting my senior year in high school then invested in my first SLR in college and it’s been an amazing ride ever since. One of the greatest opportunities I still have is documenting one of the coolest parties in NY Everyday People! Outside of that, I’ve collaborated with various companies throughout the years.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No one’s journey is ever smooth. I’ve had ups and downs. Last year was very rough. But a blessing always comes out of rough patches. I was able to work on amazing projects and shoot more than ever. Now I’m working on a coffee table book that I’m extremely excited about!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a model agent at IMG Model Management and I’m also a photographer. I specialize in both and I love love both!! I’m most proud of pursuing my dream and becoming an agent and also finally creating a website where I sell prints of photos I’ve taken throughout the years.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
What I learned from the Covid crisis is that you all you have is yourself. So take yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally!
