Meet Angela Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Jackson. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Angela Rena aka Angela Jackson is a writer extraordinaire. She is not only a journalist but she also writes scripts, poetry, and children’s books. Angela Rena began writing when she was a child. She has always expressed herself through words in poetic form and in psalms. She recalls visiting Toluca, Morelia, and Mexico in her early teen years and writing a song in Spanish and singing on the balcony of her hotel room to the people in Mexico City.

In addition to her love for writing is her love for helping others. Angel Rena has worked as a Social Worker, Educator, and Counselor. In each of these fields, she dedicated herself to helping youth in urban areas become their best selves. Today she has created her own inspirational company, Angela Rena & Co. where she is a Transformational Coach, Speaker, and Author.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
While Angela Rena has encountered many obstacles, including losing her father at the age of 16, she has learned to practice mindfulness and to embrace the process of whatever event she is facing. The phrase “tough times make you stronger” rings true in Angela Rena’s story. She recalls heartache in each decade of her life. “I have not encountered one decade without a major life crisis.”

In her first ten years, I had heart surgery. In my teens, I lost my father. My marriage to the love of my life ended in my twenty’s and I married an abusive manipulative man. In my 30’s I had a stroke. In my 40’s I suffered financial devastation due to the recession and the loss of my eldest brother.

In my book, L.E.A.P. I share the three p’s: Perspective, Persistence, & Passion. The 3 P’s got me through so many obstacles. Two of my greatest lesson are:” embrace the process and acceptance is the key. These two golden nuggets saved my life on several occasions. I have truly learned that trials make you strong.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Angela Rena is an author of seven literary works. Her most recent publications are her children’s books Understanding Me and Ripe Tomatoes. Understanding Me is the story of a young girl. Akilah takes a plane trip to visit her grandparents. During a life-changing summer with her grandparents, she learns to appreciate and love her African American culture.

Ripe Tomatoes is equally inspirational and endearing. Ripe Tomatoes celebrates our daycare providers and the service they provide to not only children but to the ear they lend to parents. Abuela is an Afro-Latina childcare provider who provides care for the children and words of wisdom for their parents. The themes of empowerment and unconditional love continue to be a thread in all of Angela Rena’s writings. Angela Rena is an activist for social justice.

In addition, to Angela Rena’s published books she has a podcast, the Woosah Podcast. The Woosah Podcast is a space where you can unwind and woosah the crazy, receive an encouraging word and leave with actual tips and tools. The Woosah Podcast is a place for you to become your best self.

As a transformational coach and the owner of Angela Rena & Co, Angela Rena loves to collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations. Angela Rena & Co. collaborates with Imaginetainment Inc to produce a weekly talk show with Dr. Seth Francois, the Business of Love. The Business of Love is on its 4th season.

Lastly, Angela Rena is the Managing Editor for Suite Life SoCal magazine. Suite Life SoCal is a concierge magazine that highlights what Black and Brown people are doing in Southern California. It also serves a genuine connection for entrepreneurs.
