Rising Stars: Meet Aidan Aguirre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aidan Aguirre.

Hi Aidan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began playing music at a young age. It all started when my mother signed me up for tap dance lessons at the age of five. Seeing my natural sense of rhythm along with her love of the performing arts, she sparked a love for rhythm and expression early on. From the beginning of my memory, my Dad was always introducing me to new sounds. He always had Motown on, my favorite music to this day, while simultaneously turning me on to the classic albums of the times. (Early 2000’s) One minute would be Roy Orbison, the next Snoop Dogg. I got my first drum set at the age of six and never put the sticks down. At 18, I picked up Stevie Wonder’s “Music of My Mind” from Amoeba not knowing that my entire life was going to change. Once I dove into his timeless and awe-inspiring catalog, I knew I too wanted to write songs and spread the word of god and feelings of hope from within my own spirit. He still and will always remain my biggest inspiration. I then began playing piano and picking up about any instrument I could in hopes of expressing the songs within my heart. I also enjoy other creative outlets such as photography, design, cinematography, writing, visual art and much more. I am currently working on my Debut Album and soon will share it with the world.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There have been many obstacles along the way, but I believe they are to serve the purpose of strengthening me and teaching me what I need to know. I’ve been in many groups that once seemed right, but after time I realized they didn’t serve my purpose. It can be discouraging yet incredibly inspiring to see that it isn’t meant for you. It has made me realize that I am the only one that truly can express the ideas and feelings I have inside. As an independent artist still working on their first body of work, I still deal with the struggles that can be discouraging. Working jobs that I am not in love with just to pay my bills is one example. However, I choose to look at the positive, for I know great things are coming and it is what I have to do to temporarily for my future self. We all deal with heartbreak and loss, but we can’t let it tear us down. We must rise and take with us the strength it has to offer.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a multi-faceted artist. I consider myself a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, photographer, cinematographer and so many more. I specialize in music. Writing, arranging, producing, sound design and bringing a feeling to life. I’m not concerned with anything other than making timeless productions that I can be proud of and that hopefully will outlast me and represent who and what I am beyond my time. I want to inspire people generations from now. I believe that’s what sets me apart. I am an original because I do my own thing. It’s always about expressing what I feel with my own acquired taste. I don’t care what’s popular or what other people are doing, I focus on my own vision. I am most proud of myself for being authentic, staying true, and pushing myself to create greatness.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I am always looking to learn. I want to find more mentors. I believe we learn best when we share knowledge with others, but I have so much I still want to learn. What has worked well for me is remembering that we are all in this together and to not be afraid to reach out and ask other questions.
