Exploring Life & Business with Samantha Popa of A Bride By Samantha

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Popa.

Hi Samantha, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in LA as a second generation. I went to a French American school and was a competitive equestrian athlete during while growing up, I began teaching yoga and pilates in college while majoring in Psyhcology at UC Merced and knew I had a passion for making people happy. I started my business A Bride By Samantha in 2013 after learning everything I know about fashion from my mom who owned a customized dress boutique. I won Best Custom Bridal Designer in Los Angeles in 2019 and in the entire state in 2020. My business was doing incredibly well until Covid hit. I was left heartbroken as were most of my brides from the cancellations of their weddings. I began turning to my first love of yoga and pilates to relieve the stress and began to go deeper into my meditation practices including listening to Soundbaths. Thankfully Natural Pilates where I teach classes in Beverly Hills continued to offer virtual classes while closed which helped with stress relief. I realized how much the weight of loss of business and my partner at the time had taken more of a tole on my body than I had realized. I had a hard time sleeping and controlling my emotions. I began turning to Sound Healings by The Copper Vessel, my now mentor, a woman that has changed my life for the best and helped me realize my true calling as a vessel of healing reiki light to anyone I am around.

I bought my first sound bowl at the beginning of Covid. It changed my life, now I have five. I moved home to help take care of my father who we came to find out was battling stage 4 lung cancer. The bowls were there for me. I was his nurse at night and the bowls were my relief. A place where I could go to return to peace and love no matter how I was feeling. I began experiencing stronger psychic abilities, physical abilities and the ability to heal people from anxiety, trauma, sleep disorders, PTSD and so much more with the power of my Sound Alchemy Bowls by Crystal Tones. These bowls have improved my life so much and helped me find my true divine path of inner love & light. The last time I played for my father was the first night we had a night nurse, I was finally able to have some time for myself in the evening but I no longer wanted him to be suffering. So I played the bowls and sent an intention for him to be out of pain. He passed in his sleep the next morning. After that I knew I was different and had found my true calling as a Reiki and Sound Healer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have been saying that getting in touch with your inner spiritual goddess can also be compared to turning into the Hulk. You have to share past layers of yourself, say goodbye to the old version of you so that you can be reborn as your divine self. The self that practices regular speaking your truth and using Divine Nos and Sacred Yesses. When I was little, I was stronger in my psychic abilities. Saying no to protect myself came easy to me. But when I started bridal, the need to people please took over to the point where my body was in pain and I was pushing through it to make other people happy. Since I have been practicing and getting deeper and deeper into my subconscious through morning meditations and sound healing, I have been able to attract so many amazing people in my life. I know lead private and group sound healing for celebrities and nonprofits. I help people change their lives for the best. I help them find their answers to their questions using their own minds to help connect into their truth, their fate, their divine purpose.

A Bride by Samantha is a custom sustainable bridal boutique only working with real organic materials that are nontoxic for the environment. We are a one stop bridal shop offering everything from gowns to shoes a family business where everything is made with love. I create unique bridal gowns for religious and nontraditional brides, each dress is made to your measurement and created to the bride’s likes and specifications. I believe that a gown should be made to fit a bride’s body after helping so many dress-fitting nightmares that came into our stores from other boutiques. I realized there is a flaw in the bridal system and there was a way to repair it. Simply by creating gowns made to each bride’s measurements and pushing the final fitting of their gown as close to the wedding day as possible. Now I offer brides a private Sound Healing to visualize their dream dress as they were walking down the aisle to the partner of their dreams. I combine Kundalini Yoga, Pilates, Breathwork, Tarot Card Reading, and Reiki Healing, Sound Alchemy Bowls to create a very healing and soothing Soudnbath experience not only for brides but anyone who wants to heal their mind, body and soul.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Winning my first Junior Hunter Championship at age 15. Really all of the memories around the barn, my horses and friends. Having psychic connections with family, friends and animals at a young age. Being able to read people’s energy to find out who they truly are. Living in France when I was 16 and being immersed in a different culture.
