Check Out Hari Tahov’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hari Tahov.

Hi Hari, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m from Bulgaria. I came to Los Angeles in 2015 pursuing a fashion design degree. In 2016, I wanted to do more than fashion. I already created my own online shop while visiting Bulgaria and didn’t continue fashion school. I switched interest and enrolled in Los Angeles Film School pursuing a Production Bachelor degree in the arts. In 2018, I won two awards in my country Bulgaria’s Fashion Week competition. I was awarded for youngest designer of the year and representative of fashion design through the family company Julian Tahov interior design. Upon graduating from film school in March 2020, I started designing Augmented Reality experiences for Instagram and Facebook. AR and 3D projects are closely related to film making and they involve coding like in most apps and games.

In 2020, I became proficient in creating filters because of the lockdowns I had a lot of time on my hands. I made some filters for my influencer friends and this gave me the idea that I could be doing it as a freelance job which started in the end of summer 2020. For now, I’ve made more than 30 filters for clients. On December 18, I made 1y since I posted my first filter. To celebrate, I created 2 Christmas filters. Currently, I am posting a New Years filter for everyone to enjoy and celebrate a better year ahead. For now, I’m confident that I will remain a filter developer as the work I do brings a lot of joy to people. I love seeing people happy and using art that I’ve made from scratch that they can wear or play with. It’s joyful and fun for everyone. For now, I have around 14million people using my filters. One day I hope I reach a billion uses and that the world knows of my art and unique job profession.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It haven’t been a smooth rode. I faced a lot of mean people in fashion school and film school who didn’t support my art or my vision. Right now, I’m in post-production of a film I wrote, directed and produced, and it’s been a tough long road but we’re finally in the editing room. As well as for my work in fashion, filters, and film, covid haven’t been easy on me and my time. I’m thankful now that I have my filter developer freelance work where I can work and collaborate with more people who value my art and vision.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For now, my job is a filter developer and producer. I graduated with production degree in film and studied everything that it inhabits. As a creative producer, I love creating art and making it into games, stories, or beautiful creations. All that I can incorporate into the Artificial reality which is on every social media or website nowadays. This allows me to work and collaborate with companies and Celebrities who want to be marketing savvy and up to the technical advancements on the internet.
