Today we’d like to introduce you to Turen Robinson
Hi Turen, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Early in life, my mother was a costume designer. She brought me along to theaters for dress rehearsals and I fell in love with the stage from behind the scenes. I was in plays all throughout my childhood and later went to Stella Adler theater academy in Hollywood. Since then, I’ve been writing, doing film, and stand up comedy for the past 13 years.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
An easier question would be: what were the easy parts!? Cause that’s a much shorter answer. So to answer your question in short; no, it has not been easy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m most known for being an actor. I’ve done commercials such as soylent 2.0 and pizza hut, as well as music videos such as Marshmello and Bastille’s ‘Happier’ and Tokimonsta and Johnathan Pierce’s ‘Givin up’. As well as television/film/ and online randomness. I’m most proud of my ability to create ideas. Mostly silly comedic stuff, but still… I feel “some type’a’way” seeing something I wrote come to life. What sets me apart is my versatility. Jack of all trades, master of… some.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
People are overrated.
