Today we’d like to introduce you to Meaux Bass.
Meaux, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved from Atlanta, GA to Los Angeles during the summer of 2015, I remember it was July and all I had was a one way greyhound bus ticket, barely $200.00, my suitcase and dreams. I rode the bus for two days, not knowing much about where I was going but it was too late to turn around.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a journey I can say. It’s hasn’t been exactly smooth, there’s been many obstacles, roadblocks, and challenges. I basically started over from scratch. Getting established and finding my footing took some time. But I’m constantly evolving and changing. I’m always grateful for some of my challenges because ultimately they molded me into who I am today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a model and musical artist. I’ve been modeling since around 2016 and musically, I’ve been recording for around the same time. My first single ‘SPLASH’ ft Sev7en Taylor debuted in 2018 and I’ve released a few follow-up singles since then. I’m currently preparing for my EP which will be my first musical body of work which will debut later this year. I’m feeling really good about it, it’ll have some POP and Hip Hop elements so stay tuned. As far as my modeling side, I creative direct and model in my visuals. I brainstorm and develop all of these different ideas and elements and then I collaborate with a photographer and we just bring them to life. My most recent visuals were shot by a really talented local photographer by the name of Leire Baztarrica, I love the chemistry that we have. Some of my visuals are personal and tell a unique story to who I am as an artist and my journey, and others are solely creative and just fun because I really like to play around with fantasy and whimsical imagery. It’s my way of decompressing from the real world.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve always had a very supportive friend group. And I believe that’s so important to your character and artist development. Especially me not being from this city, I’ve been graced with an abundance of support.
