Meet Errol Asayas of Errol Asayas Photography in Alhambra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Errol Asayas.

Errol, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My interest in photography began in 2013, the year my wife and I decided to vacation to new and exciting places. I was mesmerized by the beauty I encountered on my trips from the sunsets on Maui’s unforgettable beaches to the spiritual red mountains in Sedona. I wanted to capture every moment, every experience that I felt as I admired the wonders of the world. I began to learn more and more about photography. Besides landscape photography, I began to show an interest in product, portrait, wedding, lifestyle and real estate photography. The interest I had in photography grew into a love and respect for the art. Photography allows me to explore my creative side. In 2015, I started my business, Errol Asayas Photography. Along the way, I have met people from all walks of life. I have been lucky enough to capture special moments for newlyweds, expecting parents and those celebrating a special birthday. I also met my colleague, Abe Alejandro, where we have been able to collaborate on larger projects. Photography, for me, started off as a mere hobby that turned into a fulfilling career.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey as a photographer has had its challenges along the way. One challenge was marketing. How was I going to advertise my services effectively and efficiently? Another challenge was the financial aspect. I wanted to make sure I had the best equipment. Through determination and persistence, I had saved enough money to fund affordable marketing resources on-line. I started to get regular clients and through word of mouth my clientele grew. Also, being able to collaborate with a fellow photographer and friend is a definite plus. Although, marketing my services is a continuous challenge, working hard to gain business is the ultimate goal. Photography has become my passion and being able to focus on that passion has helped me overcome the challenges I encountered.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Errol Asayas Photography – what should we know?
Errol Asayas Photography, LLC specializes in weddings, maternities, family portraits, lifestyle, events, landscape and real estate photography. My company’s mission is to capture those special moments in time that can never be re-lived, but can be cherished forever. My proudest moments are when my clients receive the final product of their photoshoot and they are amazed and elated by the outcome. In turn, those same clients book future photoshoots as well as refer their friends and family. There is a sense of accomplishment when my clients feel like they have received photos that go over and beyond what they’ve expected. I am also deeply humbled by the compliments I receive from fellow photographers that find inspiration through my photos.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel that continuous learning is important to be successful. Continuous learning allows me to grow and, in regards to photography, it is evident in my photos. My drive and desire to continue learning allows me to adapt to the changing times as well as gain new experiences.
