Conversations with Noah Humes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Humes.

Noah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began drawing around Pre-k and my fervor grew deeper throughout middle school and high school leading me to attend the University of Arizona for one year then transferring to Otis College of Art and Design, where I received my BFA in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Illustration in 2017. This was apart of creating a foundation that grounds me artistically where I fully immersed myself with imagined subject matter that still carries into the present-day.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely been a mixed bag of difficult and easygoing moments throughout college mostly.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a multimedia artist that enjoys working with wood, paint, clay, nails, modeling clay, wheat paste and other materials. Most of my work consists of a balance of imagined and real characters and moments that create new stories intended to live within the canvas. Most proud of working on the mural on Sunset and Laurel Av that pays a tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement and is considered one of the largest murals to the movement in the nation.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can reach me on my Instagram and website.
