Today we’d like to introduce you to Niecey Blanco.
Niecey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My interest in music started early on in life, I’ve always had a knack for entertaining others. I’ve been dancing since I was old enough to move my body. In my younger years, it was solely based on the beat never really paying attention to the words, but more so how the music made me feel. I actually was entered into the magnet program at school for performing arts.
When I matured in age, I began to envision myself in different roles and lifestyles that music portrayed. Bossy, money motivated, on a hustle, fly, hot girl, sexy, smart, I mean I wanted it all. The big houses, expensive bags, and the power of holding the attention in a room; that’s when I realized the power of music. Honestly speaking, my introduction into rapping was recent and started as a joke about me actually becoming a rapper. Listening to music thinking to myself that I was better, and I’m going to remix a song. Until one day a friend of mine called me on it and said: “Okay, let’s see what you’re made of, we are going to the studio.” My first time in the studio, I was horrible. I didn’t know what to expect, even the way the heads phones speak back to you threw me off. I went home and practiced until I got it. When I came back, I just never stopped going.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has been as smooth as it could be. Actually smoother than people portray it to be. Thankfully my journey have just been falling into place. When a problem arises, it’s almost as if the solution finds me. People hear my music and immediatelyh want to work with me in some capacity, it’s as if the same music used to move me, I’m creating that same feeling. Some are more genuine than others, but that is something I can’t worry about because that’s life. The biggest hurdle is money, funding yourself in order to reach the masses. Chasing dreams is never easy, and this one is especially not cheap, but my dream won’t fund itself. I feel like I’ve been making it happen but the reality is the bigger the stakes get, the more money I need.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Right now I just dropped a new single called Bronco. It’s out on All platforms. It’s definitely showcasing my growth as an artist and lyricist. My goal is to get better every time. I want every song to be Better than the last. My whole goal is to build a solid fan base and following right now. I have a few more singles I’ll be dropping in the coming weeks as well. I just did my first video I loved it anc I’m excited to continue. Me and my team is slowly growing I’m just trying to figure out how to juggle all aspects of what I’m doing and who to trust. Look out for the video it will be out soon. I’m almost surprised at the artist I’ve become and how much I’ve changed since the first time I was in the studio. 2021 just look to consistently see me dropping heat! I make music for the bougie ghetto girls so the goal is to make sure every fly Hoochie hears it right now and feel what I’m saying.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I feel like women will have a huge increase of competition because it’s on open lane. I’m excited to see the creativity that will come from women being allowed to keep up with the boys. But hopefully, everybody goes back to be less sensitive.
