Today we’d like to introduce you to Aryan Davenport.
Aryan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I moved out to LA from North Carolina four years ago, right after high school. When I first moved out, I was working a regular 9-5 job and going to school for Criminal Law, all while trying to juggle building my dance career. After about a year and a half of being in LA, things started to take off. I started assisting, booking jobs, and my social media presence began to grow super fast. I was able to quit my 9-5 and focus on what I moved out to LA for! Just my small time in LA, I’ve worked for artists like Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, YG, Lyrica Anderson, Rubi Rose, and more! Things happened a lot quicker for me than most and for that I’m so grateful.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think anything ever has a smooth road. There’s even obstacles now, different kinds of obstacles from when I first started, but the more success you get, the more problems you run into! There’s different money problems, there’s juggling your time, family, friends, dealing with being in the spotlight, just many types of stresses that enter your life. But at least now, it’s a good type of stress. That’s how I look at it!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Always Remain Yourself – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My new clothing brand that I just launched about two months ago is called “ARY / Always Remain Yourself” It perfectly sums up who I am as a person and a creative. The meaning of this is to be confident in who you are, keep elevating, keep thriving, and being you. I made this brand for EVERYONE. Gays, straights, men, women. I never wanted to create a clothing brand just to make money, I don’t care about that. I want it to be able to make people feel amazing and feel like their best selves. I want it to be able to reach people in a different way than just “looking fly.” If I do that, then I’ve done my job.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m actually planning on transitioning into different things other than dance. I feel like I’ve reached my point in that aspect of my career. I’m built for so many other amazing things. Acting, modeling, and maybe even the artist’s life at some point. I’ve always been passionate about everything involving art, and I wanna be great at it all, so now I’m beginning to start working on some new things! As far as my clothing brand, just gonna keep coming out with dope shit. Gonna keep elevating.
