Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Leigh.

Brittany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Hi! I am a fourth-generation (mother’s side) medium and first generation indigenous (fathers side). I have been talking to spirits since I was two years old. After many years of study and practice, enough people told me I should start my own practice. And a few years ago I did exactly that! My first job as a tarot reader started at Spitfire Girl on Melrose Avenue. Every Friday evening, for a couple of hours, I could be found reading tarot for a walk in clients. I met many lovely souls (living and none) during that gig and not long after, I started reading for prestigious private events. Now in 2020, I have celebrity clientele and my business is strictly word of mouth.

Has it been a smooth road?
I would say the spiritual journey is never a smooth, even road. As a spiritual healer, it’s imperative I heal as well. I take an active role in my healing journey and have done much shadow work and ancestral healing. It’s hard, however I couldn’t teach it if I’m not learning myself. I learn something new every day in this line of work.

As far as starting my own business, there was a lot of leg work. I did close to 400 complimentary readings to get some footing and confidence in working with the collective (not just my family and friends). I was extremely grateful to get my first resident tarot reader position shortly after. I did work events that I paid to be there and sometimes I would break even or lose money. But, I networked my ass off! Can I say ass? Pardon me if not. Being a Gemini x’s four, I am a social butterfly by nature. I utilized this to my benefit and worked any and every event I could. The rejections were always a redirection and when one door closed, a million windows opened. This is inevitable of success and I’m still working hard!

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a professional psychic medium, tarot reader and witch. It’s quite the mouthful! I specialize in cartomancy (card reading) that consists of past, present, and future energies. My tarot readings highlight one’s spiritual evolution and touch on areas in ones life that could use some extra love. I also predict future events with precise dates (give or minus a couple of days). I channel passed loved ones, guides, archangels, and ancestors. Oh! And I can see past lives. I’d say what makes me most proud is when I see my clients thriving after a session. I love it when they come back and tell me my readings have changed their lives. I love watching them step into their power and owning it. My life’s work would be complete if I could instill in the collective that one has the power to heal themselves and honoring your intuition is a birthright.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Los Angeles is this city is pure magic and a portal to something beyond what our minds can comprehend. This land is magical and when you tap into the energy field, you can feel the electricity. In the 70s, a witch named Louise Huebner, she has deemed the Los Angeles witch, cast a spell over the city at the Hollywood Bowl. The spell was for love and sexual healing for the whole city and I can truly feel that to my core. I hope to cast a love spell at the Hollywood Bowl sometime as I feel this city could use it right about now.

My least favorite part about LA is the lack of resources and compassion for the increasingly growing homeless population. As rent prices increase (even in the midst of a global pandemic) and minimum wage stays the same, we are going to continue to see this increase. There are many other factors at play here, however our local and federal government are failing them tremendously. It’s completely and utterly heartbreaking. Also, we are seeing climate change in LA with fires, heatwaves, and earthquakes this year. We have a front-row seat to the damaging and deadly effects of climate change. It’s real. It’s here. And change has to occur now! Overall in the ten years, I’ve lived here, I’ve matured, healed, and blossomed in this beautiful place and I wouldn’t change one single moment. My heart and soul belongs to the city of angels.
