Meet Andrea Wattley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Wattley.

Andrea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had always liked photography but in Venezuela, my parents saw it as a hobby rather than a career, so I tried to do it as a hobby while I was studying medicine. Then I came to Miami to study Medicine, but it was difficult for me. Then I began to talk to myself that what was the other thing that I wanted to do and I remembered how much I dreamed with being a photographer.

I bought my camera and from that moment, I did not stop taking photos, the consistency, the practice and the great dream that I had helped me every day to make this possible. And I started this great dream, I have studied and I am very interested in learning about photography every day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest obstacle that I had to face was my self-esteem and believing that I could make it. Once I prepared myself, worked hard, and received feedback from family, friends, and customers, I started to believe in myself and it has opened a lot of doors with amazing opportunities.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I believe that beyond having a business or a company, what I really have is a dream! The dream that since I was little, a voice inside of me told me to dedicate myself to photography, which was what I was most passionate about, and I think that has been my secret to emerge in this world. I want to be more successful every day because I don’t see it as a business, but I do see it as a lifestyle that makes me very happy!

I believe that what differentiates me from others is that I do what I like to leave a memory of the most important moments in people’s lives and always trying to capture the scenery of each person in the image.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
A person who wants to be successful will be presented with an opportunity and take advantage of it regardless of the adversities until their goal is reached.
