Meet Caroline Lesley of Caroline Lesley Photography in Santa Monica

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Lesley.

Caroline began shooting pictures at the age of 11 when she went to Photography camp and made her first pin hole camera. She fell in love with the science and art of Photography while watching the blank page become life before her eyes. She convinced her father to give her his Canon AE-1 SLR and began photographing everything in sight. In high school, she saved her summer earnings to buy her own enlarger, film, chemicals and created her own darkroom in her parents’ cold cellar.

Caroline had a strong desire to photograph people and their faces. Close up on her mother, her father, her sister – who soon became her muse! She started showing her work in galleries in Toronto. She received acceptance to the incredible Humber College Photography program.

She moved to New York City in 2006 and worked with the well-known photographer, Jinsey Dauk. Jinsey became her mentor and Caroline solidified her skills in creating dynamic head shots.

While in NYC, Caroline shot several different events, weddings, head shots and family shoots. She also expanded her artistic eye with macro photography and had her work featured in galleries in NYC.

Caroline moved to San Francisco in 2011 where she spent time photographing her own growing family as she had 2 baby girls. She also spent time photographing the gorgeous topography of San Francisco, Sausalito & Tiburon.

She currently splits her time between Los Angeles and The Beaches area of Toronto, Canada. She loves photographing the beautiful beaches in LA and Toronto, but more importantly the happy families that enjoy the beaches!

Caroline is also an actress and voice over artist. You might recognize her from movies such as Fruitvale Station and shows like The Onion News Network and As The World Turns. Caroline was the voice of the Yoplait yogurt commercials for several years.

Caroline is married to TV news personality Jon Erlichman and they have two little girls.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you’re an entrepreneur there are definitely challenges. You have to be motivated. I think the best thing for small business owners is word of mouth, so I always focus on making my customers happy and I get joy out of seeing the smile on their face when they see their proofs.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Caroline Lesley Photography – what should we know?
