Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Bourne and Barbara Westmaas.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Heather and Barbara. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
During our world’s darkest hour, The Covid-19 crisis, my Mom and I were keeping the faith… but from a distance! Like many of you, We were separated from our loved ones while on lockdown, but we stayed connected spiritually although we could not be together physically. Through phone calls and email correspondence and zoom chats, Our mother/daughter bond deepened as we partnered to write this book, Look on the Bright Side… in hopes to encourage the world with hope and humor during one of our darkest hours!
Has it been a smooth road?
The Pandemic situation was definitely and obstacle because we were not physically together as writing partners. This was a struggle to complete the book under these circumstances. We actually completed the writing portion of the book and could not shoot the book cover until they lifted the restrictions for hair salons, make-up artists to begin working again, photographers, etc… We literally mocked up our book cover with random pictures, preparing to publish our story with or without the fancy cover we had envisioned…But it worked out that we were able to shoot our book cover within that ONE week that the world opened up…before all business as usual got shut down AGAIN!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Look on the Bright Side: A 31 – Day Devotional to Finding Joy on Your Journey – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We are a mother-daughter writing team and just launched our 1st book together last month! (Look on the Bright Side) . It has been one of the top-selling books on Amazon! We did a social distance/mask required book signing this month and the response was amazing…We sold out of every book!
Our uplifting & often humorous personal stories share words of advice to inspire readers to keep believing in their dreams, expecting only the best, and enjoying life to the fullest. It is our desire to offer encouragement through our stories and life experiences. Our prayer is that these daily devotions will help readers to live out their best life through prayer, reflection and action. So, that being said…We specialize in motivating people to see the silver lining in every test and trial.

Hands down, we love the diversity of our city and the beautiful weather! What we like least about our city is the growing homeless crisis!
