Meet Ariana Rosado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Rosado.

Ariana Rosado is from East Chicago, Indiana. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Mass Communications and Business Marketing but is currently working as a professional dancer in Los Angeles. She developed a strong passion for dance in college while dancing for her school dance team. It was her junior year after getting the opportunity to dance with Beyoncé that she was determined to make dance a career path. After graduating college, she began dancing for the Chicago Bulls. She danced for their team for five years and four of which she served as captain. During her tenure with the Bulls she also choreographed and managed two of their other performance teams, the Swinging Seniors and Lunior Luvabulls. While in Chicago, she also danced for Fox’s hit show Empire, and various artists, and productions. She decided to take the leap and moved to Los Angeles about a year ago and within her first year, booked a tour opening for the Jonas Brothers with Bebe Rexha. She’s currently working and signed by Bloc Talent Agency.

Has it been a smooth road?
I had wanted to move to Los Angeles years before I finally made it happen. Unfortunately, my finances were not always there so I has to wait until I was in a financially sound place. The hardest part is having the patience when moving because you have to complete start over career-wise unless you have some strong dance connections. If not, this means taking a lot of classes and working your way into an agency. Sometimes you can feel a bit defeated but no matter what, as long as you continue to work towards your dream, it will happen.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My business is dance and I am very proud of taking my NBA dance career into a commercial dance career.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA is a great place for dance. Commercially there are endless opportunities as well as amazing opportunities to train out here. When someone is first starting out here, I would definitely recommend doing their research and finding out what choreographers they want to work for and which educators they want to learn from. It’s important to start building your network and also to continually grow as a dancer.
