Meet Gilberto Rosas of Maverick Media Lab in LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gilberto Rosas.

Gilberto, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve lived in LA all of my life. I was born in East LA and grew up in South Central to immigrant parents who moved here from Mexico to provide a better life for their kids. Growing up, I knew that I wanted to be someone that would make a difference in other people’s lives in a significant way and as I entered college, I began to realize that entrepreneurship was my avenue to do that. When you look at the world as it is today, entrepreneurs at the highest level (like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, etc.) and even at a small local level have contributed so much to the growth of society by providing goods and services that make people’s lives better. I knew I wanted that. So I began the journey of entrepreneurship. I left my job that I had during college and dove right in. It was definitely a leap of faith and required me to instill a deeper level of trust in myself. I knew if I focused, put the work in, and that as long as my intentions were to contribute, it would all work out, and it did. We now help business owners across the US and Canada grow their business through proven and battle tested sales and marketing systems. Our clients are dominating their local area with the marketing campaigns we put in place for them. That for me is the most fulfilling part knowing that the work we put in for our clients is resulting in more growth and freedom in the business which are core principles that Maverick Media Lab stands by.

Has it been a smooth road?
Definitely not. It has been a journey filled with obstacles which really I see now as opportunities to grow and expand into a better version of myself. I can still remember the day I left my job as if it were yesterday. There was so much uncertainty but also excitement as well. It was definitely a struggle to figure out how to market and sell my services at first but through trial and error, mentorship, and relentless pursuit, I figured it out. This is why I am so passionate about what I do because I know how frustrating it can be to not know when the next client will come and solely relying on referrals without a system to deliver a consistent stream of leads. Sales and marketing is the lifeblood of any business and unfortunately, there is no formal education on these subjects that is up to date and taught by a practitioner. Which leaves many businesses not knowing how to effectively use marketing to grow their business. When clients come to us, they’re usually frustrated with either not having the knowledge, proper marketing systems, or the time to do it themselves which is a very common problem. Having spent countless hours myself in the beginning to learning sales and marketing and testing different marketing methods (some of which worked and some that didn’t), it would be unrealistic for an established business owner to take that time out of running their business to learn and implement it themselves.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Maverick Media Lab story. Tell us more about the business.
Maverick Media Lab is a company that provides innovative sales and marketing systems to businesses so that they can grow through predictable lead flow and efficient sales processes. Unfortunately, there’s no formal training or schooling to businesses to help them leverage modern technology such as social media to market their business which results in many of them relying on referrals which often leads to a “glass ceiling” where they don’t have the control to scale and grow their business as they’d like.

What we pride ourselves the most in is taking the burden off our clients so that they don’t have to waste time or money trying ineffective methods or wasting hours trying to figure out all out themselves. Our process is simple and works because we focus on creating systems that are complementary to the business. Many business owners will try doing things like Google ads (which do work) but if it’s not in line how they operate their business or how they’ve grown then it won’t work for them specifically. We’ve developed a process for diagnosing a business. Identifying the fastest route to growth and impeccable support and implementation. For some businesses, this might look like a lead generation campaign, for others it might mean focusing on growing their referral partnerships, and in some cases it might mean implementing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to help them get more referrals from past clients. There is no one in the market place that offers a holistic approach of not only generating leads but increasing referral partnerships and past client relationships and that’s what makes us different.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Our most recent big change is expanding our reach to Canada where we’re now taking on clients and implementing our systems there which has brought incredible results so far! We’ve also seen a dramatic increase in demand recently due to social distancing. Now that in-person networking events and conferences are not going on right now in 2020, there’s been a lot of traditional business owners that were not using online platforms that are now beginning to find ways to leverage the internet to grow their business. These are exciting times and we’re looking forward to not only the growth of our company but the growth of our clients’ businesses as they grow with us!
