Meet Ari Soffer of Soffer Ari in West Los Angeles and Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ari Soffer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ari. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started out by making leather pants for myself and my friends. I was never able to find anything cool in any store that would fit me so I made my first pair using a matt black leather with large hand “X” stitching on the inseams. They were very Rock N Roll. I had a girlfriend at the time that was a jeweler and she cast me some buttons with Sapphires set into them for my pants. A few months later while I was traveling to Maui, I walked into a gallery who dealt with Rock N Roll memorabilia. They saw a key chain I was wearing which was Sterling Silver Skulls and Crosses with Ruby’s set in all the eyes. They asked to take a photo of it to show to their client. I said of course yes. They then asked me to send a “Buy Box” to them which they would show to their client. Whatever the client bought they would pay for and whatever wasn’t purchased, they would return to me in Los Angeles. From my first box, their client purchased $45,000 of jewels. They also sent requests for pieces with more precious stones, Diamonds, Emeralds, Sapphires and Ruby’s. From that point forward, we have set precious stones into all of our best pieces and my Jewelry Company was off the ground. This client who happened to be one of the most wealthy people in the world, went on the purchase more the half a million dollars of pieces from us. We used this money to manufacture more jewelry for our new stores which we started to distribute thru, and to buy machines to manufacture our leather and jewelry with.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There is no such thing as a smooth road. If every road was smooth, then the whole world would look a lot different. We have had our fair share of problems, mostly with the great recession which eliminated a lot of our stores we were selling to. This also created problems trying to collect money from accounts who were clearly going bankrupt. All and all though, the road has been highly traveled with some bumps and pot holes.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Soffer Ari – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We specialize in creating jewelry pieces with a very different and unique look. We also manufacture a collection of Wallets and leather bags as well as our leather pants. We are very edgy but elegant at the same time. We are Rock N Roll but formal. Our pieces can be worn to the Oscars and then, out at night with jeans. We are most proud of creating and entire collection of amazing jewelry and leather pieces which all have a very signature look which says Soffer Ari. Our exceptional customer service combined with our hands on approach and ability to create custom pieces for our customers is what sets us apart from all of our competitors.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are constantly creating new and exciting pieces for our men’s and women’s collections. We have some secret plans which we aren’t releasing right now, but we are headed for some big changes with some exciting new distribution around the world!
