Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Hunter.
Patrice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am from Sacramento, CA. My whole life, I have been a student athlete: I have played organized basketball since the 4th grade. I was blessed to have played collegiate ball at a local junior college and Concordia University Irvine, where I earned my undergraduate degree. After college, I landed a gig as a physical education aid. Post college life, I was exploring the education field and life in Los Angeles. I soon found a church home and as I started growing spiritually. I started seeing more of my potential and decided to use my interest in fashion as the vehicle to share my growth through inspirational apparel. That is where boostpt was born in 2013. When I began to brainstorm the brand name and meaning, I knew I wanted it to be timeless, something that could not go out of style. The name originated from the thought that everyone could use a boost, whether it be spiritually, mentally, or financially. Since, I have launched the website shopboostpt.com and released two collections and a few accessory pieces, with strong support from family and friends.
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely, creating and building a brand from scratch is a grind for sure. Over the years, it has been a struggle to grow outside of my circle of influence and produce consistently. When you are a one person team, you have to just figure it out from the logo to the website to the payment process, customer retention, marketing, etc. However, I love the process and the challenges that have helped build upon my knowledge and character.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Shopboostpt story. Tell us more about the business.
I am the creator, designer and everything for boostpt. Boostpt is an online apparel line based in Los Angeles, CA. I take my personal life experiences: good and bad and use them as inspiration behind fashionable, classic apparel items. They are created from inspiration with the intention to inspire and empower. I am most proud of the fact that I have started something that is bigger than myself and that I have not quit. I am always looking to be a better me to share with the world through the brand.
I believe boostpt differs from others because it seeks to meet its customers where they are along their growth journey of self-awareness, self-love, and positive influence to those in their space. Life can be many things, including tough. It is extremely important to find your light and learn what makes you tick to then be in a position to pay the light forward- boosting others around you.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Shopboostpt is looking to grow its brand awareness and build a positive community of consistent shoppers. We are looking to grow a business team of like-minded individuals to increase impact.
I would love to have the product placed in film and TV show productions that align with the uplifting foundation of the brand.
I see the brand growing and branching out outside apparel as well to create boosting experiences that foster personal development in a way apparel cannot. Be on the lookout for boostpt family card games and affirmation planners.
