Meet Nicky Shemian of NAiiA Jewelry in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicky Shemian.

Nicky, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Prior to founding NAiiA, I explored countless career paths – fashion (stylist), real estate (analyst & development), and marketing. But with every experience, part of me was always curious and interested in being a founder of my own jewelry line. While in the fashion industry, it was clear that my passion was in jewelry, not clothing. You could call it fate, but it wasn’t until I left my previous job as a real estate analyst that a good friend of mine approached me with the opportunity to design jewelry. That conversation led me to where I am today: designing jewelry and coming up on my third collection.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road here has been beautiful – one with roadblocks but no flat tires. Sounds cliche, but with every challenge that has come our way, our commitment to our craft has grown deeper. We launched in December, just prior to COVID, so collaborating with other creatives on getting the word out has been tough. Nonetheless, we are excited to share NAiiAwith other jewelry lovers and are committed to making a creative difference in the industry.

Please tell us about NAiiA Jewelry.
NAiiA is a fine jewelry brand based in Los Angeles. All of our pieces are carefully designed and made of 14K gold and the most precious gems. Our founder, Nicky Shemian, draws her inspiration from nature and with every design, her goal is to portray the beauties she witnesses and feels. All of her pieces are carefully designed, combining elements of strength, timelessness, and femininity. From stackable rings to layering necklaces and chains, Nicky’s designs are unique and diverse. NAiiA’s first collection, Deep Sea Lover, is inspired by the ocean and its natural essence. Each piece from this line incorporates mother of pearl, the protection stone of the sea. We’ll see where our future collections & designs take us, but we guarantee that you won’t find a piece that isn’t timeless or multi-occasional!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to us is making a creative difference, not a financial one. We stick to our style and create jewelry that empowers all women to walk to the beat of their own drum. We are passionate about making a creative mark on the world and are committed to inspiring other women to do the same. To us, it’s all about having the courage to share your creative nature with others. We believe in the power and value of a committed and impassioned woman. For this reason, NAiiA donates a portion of proceeds to the non-profit organization, Ladies Who Launch. LWL is devoted to inspiring women in the entrepreneurial community to launch and grow their own businesses.
