Has it been a smooth road?
Although I’ve been blessed throughout my life, my professional career has been filled with a lot of obstacles and hard work. I started my career as writer in Puerto Rico at a very young age and I had to prove that even though I was very young, I was able to be one of the best TV writers in Puerto Rico. I also adopted a son when I was only 28 years old and that made my process to achieve my goals are little bit more difficult than other people because of the responsibility of being a father while you’re working to reach your dreams.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Abimael Acosta Productions – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a writer, director and producer, but I see myself as a person who doesn’t sit and wait for opportunities. I see myself as a person who creates his own opportunities and who uses those difficult moments to re-invent myself and reach for new opportunities. Even though I’ve worked with important producers, one of the things that I enjoy the most is to create and produce my own projects and I think that is one main characteristic that set me apart from other creators who wait until someone gives them the great opportunity that they’re waiting for. I don’t wait for opportunities, I create my own opportunities.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Los Angeles because is a very diverse city and you can meet a lot of people who are fighting to achieve their dreams as you are and that gives you the courage to continue fighting to reach your goals with more strength and gives you motivation. The only thing that I don’t like to live in Los Angeles is that is very far from my hometown, Puerto Rico, and I miss my family but every time I miss them, I think in what I’m achieving here and how this makes them happy too.
