Meet Ashley Baca

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Baca.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started acting in NM a few years ago. I decided to get an agent in LA and started getting some really big auditions. I took the leap and moved out here in 2016. I was here for a few months and started meeting comedians, my roommate and I decided to give comedy a try and I fell in Love.

I’ve had so much fun doing stand up all around the country unclosing getting to headline for a Meow Wolf Comedy show back home in Santa Fe nm. This time through cove has been hard without stage performances but I have found many other creative outlets and I’ve had luck with some scripts I’ve written so hopefully there will be some big news soon.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all there have been personal challenges including my dad getting diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and him passing Jan 2019. We were really close and the whole situation made my journey less linear.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Playing the LA local circuit at The Comedy Store, Ice House, The Improv and Laugh Factory, comedian Ashley Baca originally hails from New Mexico. Her twist on mainstream Latina humor and outright funny stories from her past will leave you laughing… and maybe cringing. But either way, “The Curvy Queen” of comedy will put on a show you can’t take your eyes off.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I got to do a small tour in the southwest performing at casinos. This was a great experience performing for many different types of people making my skill set broader.
