Meet Kornbread TMF Snack Jeté of Kornbread Jeté

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kornbread TMF Snack Jeté.

Kornbread TMF Snack, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in South Carolina! Moved to Los Angeles where I studied musical theater! I figured that would be career! I found myself working “normal jobs” and attending drag shows as my regular self just for fun. Never thinking it would be my career. My friend (Mother of the Haus of Jeté) made me a bet that I wouldn’t do a Competition for people who have never done drag before.

So I said, “fine I’ll give it a shot”. I went on to compete getting 2nd place. From that show alone, I began getting offers for drag shows. I’ve worked every week in drag since my 1st of starting. The next week after the competition I went to my VERY secure job to turn in a two weeks notice. My manager asked what I was going to do, and I said I was gonna try drag. I stepped out on faith and confidence in my own talent and here we are today. Two years later, I’ve accomplished MORE than I can imagine. I work at many bars and nightclubs in West Hollywood and Downtown LA!

Weekly and bi-weekly gigs in Palm Springs and I’m even getting “Flewed Out” to gigs in other states. One of my biggest accomplishments is the YouTube scene! I met a guy named Brandon Rogers on the set of a music video. We shared monkey bread and stories! Brandon then reached out to all of the queens at the table and said “hey, I would love to work with you all” and me being the hungry one (pun intended) jumped at the opportunity. THE BEST DECISION of my life. This guy changed my career. I’ve done countless videos with him with millions of views on YouTube. Which later turned in to offers from FBE and Teens and Queens React! To features on Thrillist! Not only is Brandon one person I look up to for advice and for inspiration, he’s someone I can call a friend who has a heart of gold and humor that’ll throw your mind for a loop!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There were definitely some struggles! Drag is a hard crowd to get into. It’s a lot of proving yourself. My mentor Calypso taught me “people will gossip and ignore you in this industry. It’s up to you to make them eat their words! Those words made gain the confidence I needed. The real struggle was walking in these shoes tho! My feet still hate me for it! I’m pretty sure my toes have been numb for two years.

Please tell us about Kornbread Jeté.
I am a FULL TIME DRAG QUEEN! I specialize in the art of Lip Syncing, Hosting shows, two step dancing and Live Singing. I’m proud to be a BIG QUEEN! PLUS SIZE! I call myself the Corpulent Queen. A lot of people put negative energy behind the word FAT but I LOVVVEEEEEE IT! I embrace it and I pick up my fork with pride. That’s what drag taught me.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
NOT ONE THING!!!! Everything I did got me to where I am now!
