Meet Alson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alson.

Alson, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Alson (Lars) was born and raised in The Netherlands and now resides in Spain. Alson has already produced and performed internationally a diverse range of musical styles in the last ten years. Several high points in his career were live DJ events on Ibiza in 2019. While Alson is currently building his music catalogue, he has reached just over 1 million streams on Spotify and nearing 2 million views on YouTube. His debut single ‘Melt With You’ was signed to Lowly Palace and released in 2019 with full support from Trap Nation. Together with the Lowly team, Lars has had over 7 Trap Nation releases, the latest being his first four track EP ‘Enemies’. Alson, with his eclectic style and youthful energy is on its way making waves in the music industry.

Actually, I did my first release with Trap Nation last year. In total, now I signed 7 Lowly Palace / Trap Nation songs. Four of them are in the last EP called ‘Enemies’ All songs have been promoted by Trap Nation on their official Spotify channel and will soon be online on YouTube.

Now I just released a cover of Linkin Parks song ‘ Numb’.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life comes with struggles. I’ve been struggling finding my way into music, and I still do, but less. I think as producers, we always want to innovate and look for new things to make. This can be challenging and also struggling. I think throughout the years- now I have a different vision than before. I used to make different music and maybe that fitted to the phase I was in back then. I feel more free right now and also feel like I am more free into making music in different genres and not be so focused on one tempo for example.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I appreciate the record label’s support but nowadays, we don’t need one anymore to release music. This is a great thing as well, so I did some self-releases lately and maybe that sets me a little apart from the others. Because with my self-releases, I feel absolute freedom and no restriction to make anything that anyone else (record label) has to like. But I believe that when you feel it – and like it – others will like it too. But you have to find your audience.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As a ‘producer’ obviously I always loved music… Touring around with my parents back in the day, I was always dreaming when music was playing. And I was fantasizing how different the song could go as well. When I was a little kid, I was already playing around with my dad with a program called Magic Music maker. It was fairly simple but it did the job with creating small pieces (tracks) and making it into a song.
