Andrea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up in a southern family food is love. Food feeds the soul and brings people together. From my grandparents to my parents cooking has always played a major role in our family. Everyday was like Thanksgiving. Both of my parents are chefs, owning their own catering company Chef Harolds Catering. They introduced me to cooking at a young age.
At the age of five, my parents would get me a salmon once a week to cook. They allowed me to experiment with different seasonings and spices until I perfected my craft. The two most important things that my parents taught me is that you put the same love in your customer’s food as you do your own and if you’re not going to make something the right way, they don’t make it at all. Over the years my knowledge, creativity and love for cooking has grown and continues to grow.
Along with cooking playing a major role in my family, healing does as well. Making natural remedies for healing has been passed down from generation to generation. One of those remedies is cannabis. I started looking into the health benefits of cannabis after suffering from seizures for years. With the use of cannabis, I have been seizure-free for seven years. With my love for cooking and healing, I have created a cannabis-infused catering company and a cannabis-infused beauty company. Kandiyamzz Catering is gourmet infused food and One Love Rx is cannabis-infused beauty.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is not easy. It’s a learning experience with continuous room for growth. Looking back, the hardships and challenges that I encountered over the years helped mold me into the businesswoman that I am now. There has been a lesson learned in every problem that I have faced. With these lessons, I’m looking forward to how much more I grow and learn a chef and healer.

With Kandiyamzz Catering, I provide a wide range of cannabis-infused dishes and beverages. I am most known for my infused gumbo, crab boil, lemonade and koolaid. I provide food with a great taste that leaves you feeling relaxed.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
As a mom, seeing my daughter take in everything that I create and her willingness to learn at such is young age like I did is the best feeling ever. Knowing that I two businesses and knowledge to pass on to her is my proudest moment.
