Meet Lisette Polny of Zofia Day Co in Encinitas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisette Polny.

Lisette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The company was made with love nine years ago… I was in the fashion industry for almost 18 years and organically transitioned into fine jewelry after my husband proposed. Through a dear friend, I was introduced to a jeweler/manufacturer that asked me to design for her after my husband made my ring with her with my behind the scenes help. She loved the concept of my ring and wanted to work together. I started designing for her while maintaining my position at the apparel company I was with. She would produce my designs and I would sell them to my friends, clients and retailers… Over time the collection evolved and so did my passion. After my daughter was born, I couldn’t go back to my full-time job and realized it was time to take the leap and dedicate myself to motherhood and the collection full time. Over the last few years as my daughter has bloomed so has the line… Now I can focus on her, the collection and drive the business with the foundation of love and philanthropy.

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, it has been smooth and I constantly feel an abundance of gratitude to being doing what I do. But there are always life lessons and I have had many along the way. Learning how to maintain balance with life and work has always been a struggle. Staying true to self and working from the heart is so important and there are many people out there that don’t have the same intention. Steering clear of those toxic energies can be hard to avoid at times but even if paths are crossed lessons are learned.

Zofia Day Co is a small boutique based brand made of all things beautiful. My work covers custom bridal pieces, repurposing heirloom jewels and delicate timeless jewelry meant to be kept forever. I am proud that I genuinely love what I do and I truly care about every client that I have the honor to work with. I love the story of the jewelry and not just the sale, each piece is made for someone special. I am proud that I work directly from the heart, I partner with charities that I have true passion for and I respect all other designers the industry.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love LA for the diversity, the cultural pulse that keeps it colorful and truly artistic. I don’t like the drastic high/ low and the poverty that lives along the elite.
