Meet Priscilla Elliott of Urban Bloom Curl Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Priscilla Elliott.

Priscilla, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, curly was a struggle. My curls were always frizzy and always big! I wished many times for someone to help show me what to do to have pretty curls. Never thought I would be that person to someone. I have been specializing in Curly hair for ten years and counting and love it! It is so rewarding to help so many curlies figure out their curls! Because there are many of us out there, I knew I needed a real home for us and finally my new space is open!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a business owner is not as easy as one thinks. Many stresses and anxieties happen pretty much daily lol.. but for me it is my dream. I have sacrificed time from my husband and baby to help build our team and make our space perfect. So happy to finally be open and see the vision come to life.

Please tell us about Urban Bloom Curl Studio.
Urban Bloom is all about embracing natural curls. It is so beautiful to have clients come in ready to finally embrace what they were born with. We educate our clients on proper curl care from ingredients in products to product application and a customized dry cut that is meant for their curls. Our team of talented stylists understands our clients and the struggle of growing up curly.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Playing hairdresser in my grandma’s salon with my older sister. We would pretend to gossip and share stories haha I also remember she tried giving me bangs and my curls bounced right up! I knew then never to cut curls wet and straight! Lol.
