Meet Jeffrey Crawford of Twisted Spoons Bartending in Southern California

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Crawford.

Jeffrey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
About 7 months ago, I had a crazy idea to start my own mobile bartending service with no clue of what I was doing!

Before this crazy idea, I had been working as a server at a ‘mom and pop’ Thai restaurant for 6 years! This was my first job and had no other experience whatsoever. So I got really comfortable, not thinking of growing up! The years passed, and I was still making the same pay, serving the same customers (since I was 15 years old) and less tip in my pocket! I was always negative, I was angry all the time for no reason and I brought that stress load with me at home, it was just a very toxic lifestyle!

So one day, I decided I wanted to go to bartending school! It had me thinking, why can’t I make triple the money in one night than at my current job? The schooling took about two weeks, and right after that I started applying for jobs!

Weeks past, I followed up, called back every bar that I put an application in for and nothing came up! At that point, I was at a loss and wanted to give up job searching completely. Until one day, I had an idea to start my own mobile bartending service. Right after I came up with the business plan, I put my two weeks in so fast. I was super excited to have my own business, I didn’t think about the clientele I had to have beforehand.

Over the past 5 months, I’ve learned a lot from friends, family and even some of my clients! I would not have been here today with the same positivity and excitement I started out with, if it weren’t for everyone’s support!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Well, it’s only been 7 months so there’s still a lot of road to go! But for the most part it has been an awesome learning experience!

Twisted Spoons Bartending is a mobile bartending service that can provide service from guest counts to 10-200 guests at any special event, whether it’s at-home entertaining, a corporate event, wedding or anniversary!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would need to do anything differently, everything I did to get where I am today was a total learning experience and I wouldn’t take it back! Everything happens for a reason! I just followed my instincts.
