Meet Angelina Duplisea of AnActingAngel in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelina Duplisea.

Angelina, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Las Vegas, spent the late 90’s, early 2000’s in Seattle before I moved to Los Angeles 12 years ago with 400$, my clothes, and two cats. Been in L.A. for 12 years now.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I left a relatively decent job(that I HATED) in Las Vegas to move to LA. I didn’t have a plan or a lot of money saved up at the time, so when I arrived in LA, I had 400$, two cats, and stayed at a squatter house in Valley Village with a bunch of other people. I found a part-time office job in Century City, but it wasn’t ideal for long term or stability. So I started answering ads looking for Plus size models and actors. There weren’t very many, but I’ve managed to luck out into a few jobs that allowed me to meet people who helped me get some incredible gigs.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a plus-sized multi-hyphenate – actress/model/artist currently based in Los Angeles California. I’ve been incredibly lucky to work with some of the most talented people in the entertainment business such as Jared Leto, Shirley Manson, Jessie J, Mariah Carey and Miley Cyrus (music videos), Tom Ford, Tim Roth, Alexandre Rockwell, Peter Dinklage(film), Snoop Dogg, Mike Epps, David Arquette (live performance)Tyler Shields, Gerard Rancinan, James Mountford, Sylvie Blum, Julia Sh, (fine art), etc. etc….many of these collaborations have appeared WORLD wide in magazines like the Independent UK, Paris Match and museums such as MOCA Bangkok and galleries in Paris, New York, England and Singapore(to name drop a few).

What were you like growing up?
Loud. Blunt. Fearless. Prone to wandering off without adult supervision. When I was around five years old, I took my next-door neighbor boy (he was 4) to the church playground a few blocks away because I wanted to go play. I like to think that fearlessness has continued on in my adult life, the bluntness certainly has.
