Meet Regina Courtney of Gina’s Hair Motif in Inland Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Courtney.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am from Victorville, CA, went to Del Rey Elementary School, Victor Valley Junior and then graduated from Victor Valley High School.

There were three things I was interested in back then. One of them becoming a Hairstylist. The other two things were a Bank Teller and a Nurse. I had a passion for all three, but the Hair Stylist I later realized was part of my destiny and purpose. Although for years, I was employed as a bank teller.

My love for hair began as a small child, when I was supposed to be taking a nap, I would be in the bathroom washing my dolls hair, and then styling them the best that I could without the tools I now use.

Upon graduation from Cosmetology School, I was offered a position at a great salon, I accepted and have been in the Beauty Industry doing what I love, making people look and feel beautiful.

I have been blessed to be favored with the best clientele ever.

I now reside and work in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

I wish to encourage anyone who has dreams, to please follow them, don’t give up, put your best foot forward and trust God to bring it to fruition.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was a bit of a struggle to pursue this passion. I was working as a Customer Service Representative at a national phone company, where I sustained an injury due to repetitive motion. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. The pain was excruciating at times, I went through a long term treatment plan with physical therapy, and epidurals which ultimately landed me on Workers Compensation. By the grace of God, I was approved to be retrained in the Beauty Industry. My Dad had a hard time accepting my decision to work in this industry because he and my Mom raised my brothers and I to apply for positions at companies where you can be employed until retirement, such as utility companies. So his disagreement made the struggle difficult as well.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Gina’s Hair Motif story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a Professional Hair Stylist. The name of my business is Gina’s Hair Motif, specializing in Healthy Hair.

I am most proud of my ability to engage and communicate with difficult people/clients.

I am known for providing excellent service in a fulfilling and timely manner.

I believe having a willingness to be a listening ear with sincerity sets me apart.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in Jesus Christ and the principle of sowing and reaping. He is the one who has orchestrated my life and business. Also, what you sow you will reap good or bad.

I have seen His hand in the good and the bad times. I contribute my success to Him.
