Meet Liz Fuller of Citizen Skull Management in Silverlake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Fuller.

A former Miss Great Britain, Welsh supermodel and former Tv host granted dual American citizenship on extraordinary talent moved full time into talent management three years ago. Liz was signed to giant agents IMG, spent 18 years in front of the camera in the UK, South Africa and USA.

Today she’s focuses on passing and managing opportunities for the next generation. Citizen Skull is the fastest growing management company in LA. Two years ago there were four managers with 150 actors, today there are 16 managers and over 700 actors.

Citizen Skull places actors with top agents, hustling with casting for auditions as well as producing many features and shows throughout the year. Liz currently oversees a team of three managing and has three projects in development with CS owner Mark Myers.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Eleven years ago moving to the USA seemed an impossible and difficult dream. Only so many British are offered extraordinary talent visas and come with the strictest guidelines. Babette Perry who was my agent from her ICM and IMG days was instrumental in inspiring my journey and signing me. Many people wrote me reference letters from directors at Five TV, Channel 4, ITV in the UK to well respected American industry reps like Tanya Klecher at HRI talent, William Blaylock at Optimism entertainment who I’m grateful for.

I moved to USA with two suitcases and a dog. I knew two people, my agent and a girlfriend from London who eventually turned out not to be a friend. So times were tough settling, learning a new place and culture and trusting new people. LA is a city where there’s good and bad in abundance and the Mecca of creatives: some of these creatives like to create stories that aren’t always true.. so my one word of advice is remember this is the Center of imagination so don’t take everything seriously. Love, live and laugh… and aim for the moon. Because you will definitely be amongst the stars here

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Citizen Skull Management story. Tell us more about the business.
We keep hope alive managing artists, the entertainment is a difficult industry. I specialize in understanding the artists creativity what they emotionally struggle with, I look at the artist from their core, what drives them, how they’ve been conditioned, childhood trauma, what makes them stand out and be a genius, I tap into that energy and really see them and encourage them the space to step into that success area where they can have the freedom to become who they really can be. My job is to manage and brand them to be the best they can be, I support, encourage, inspire and even hold them up if need be. My clients are my friends, I want to grow, journey and win with them.

I think what makes citizen skull and all our team stand out is we don’t care about the money first, we care about the creative success and winning. We want everyone to be at the top of their mountain, but we respect the climb. I’m so proud and happy our clients are like family. I’ve had offers to go to top management firms, but they’ve talked about current monthly income, money and commission split first. That’s not the ethics I align with. I will be managing for a long time because when you set a true foundation developing talent for two years before results with heart, passion and spending 12 hours a day – this isn’t just a job it’s my gift of service.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
My whole life exists on the wings of luck. When I was young I remember a gypsy coming to our door, my mum who is incredibly beautiful and selfless spent time talking with her. She passed a gift onto us telling us her daughter, I would always be lucky… whether this is true or not. It’s true to me because I’ve believed it everyday. This reminds me words are powerful.

I also believe luck exists for those who can vibrate at a level of success, to do this you have to raise above the minutia and ordinary belief patterns. To be the best at what you do you have to mentally be tough and have no weaknesses. My whole life is an example of luck and opportunities meeting me prepared and ready. I’ve never met an open door I can’t walk through… I’m ready and accept all opportunities… that’s really what luck is.
