Meet Dolly Josette of PleasureMuse in Southbay & Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dolly Josette.

Dolly, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I met my Pleasure Muse when introduced to my second husband Jason, who showed up to our relationship in such a strong, sensual way. He nurtured my own sexual embodiment and ignited lusty adventures that ultimately developed into a grounded, committed marriage.

Then, like most couples who want children, our heated and passionate intimacy became obligatory sex when we tried to conceive for several years. I took a break from my high stress career as a TV Producer and opened a Health Coaching and Colon Hydrotherapy spa as part of my own health makeover. Working with others in this intimate capacity of health and body connection—making them feel safe and comfortable during colonics, and maintaining their privacy and integrity at all times—was the perfect training ground for transitioning to a career as a Sexological Bodyworker.

After our final miscarriage, I declared, “If we aren’t going to use sex for procreation, let’s see what else is possible!”

Fast forward to my certification as a Somatic Sexological Bodyworker and my training in the Somatica and Wheel of Consent methodologies.

Having failed at a first marriage that lacked intimacy and physical connection, I learned painful lessons that caused my self-esteem and body image to plummet., I felt more convinced that my fractured marriage meant that I was broken too.

My self-development and personal healing following my first marriage led me to realize that erotic possibility is our own responsibility. While deep relating with another leads to growth in other ways—and can be very fun, for sure—until we can feel our own personal connection, we can never truly receive the perfect partner or transform our current relationship.

Had my first husband and I been coached by a Sexological Bodyworker or a Somatic Sex Educator, perhaps our marriage could have been saved, or healing could have happened sooner. But not all was lost—not by a longshot!

After losing one love-relationship to what I didn’t then understand about sexual embodiment, I learned to ignite it within myself and then stokeing that fire with another. This inspired me to share this experience and knowledge—now I’m wholeheartedly committed to helping clients spark their own sexuality. I teach them how to maintain and enhance the secret ingredients of desire, embrace their feminine and masculine essence, and use sex and intimacy as a playful sacred pathway for connection and personal development.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle was building the confidence to declare that I had become a Sex Educator & Expert because of other people’s nervous or judgmental reactions to it. My stepsons were younger, so I wanted to be more private as I incubated this new found work to see if I was indeed going to pursue it professionally or it was just going to support my personal development. But I realized that I was great at helping others unwind their shame and discomfort, while building confidence and creating new neural pathways to pleasure. The newfound tools I help clients develop go beyond helping them with personal development; they help them connect on a deeper level to their partners and resolve, repair or create new relationships.

I made the commitment to open a full-time office with the full support of my amazing husband.
When I now reveal to folks what I do, they might still have funny reactions, but I’m ok with it. I help ease their nervousness the best way I know … through humor and compassion.

And during our own celebration of my stepson’s high school graduation last year, I told him and my other stepson, who was 16 at the time, “So guys, I want to tell you that I’m a sex educator.” And they replied, “We know.”

Please tell us about PleasureMuse.
I’m a Sex & Intimacy Expert. I help couples navigate their sexual satisfaction, expand their pleasure potential and prioritize intimacy in their relationships. I specialize in embodiment, somatic sexological bodywork, boundaries, consent, arousal and helping resolve pain, scar tissue or sexual issues.

I am known for the ability to really help clients feel safe and secure when talking about these important yet difficult topics. I bring in lots of tenderness, compassion, and a good sense of humor. I share the joys and triumphs from my personal life, from my failed sexless first marriage to an ever-evolving adventuresome, humorous and loving second marriage with my husband of 10 years. I understand how to prioritize intimacy with the responsibilities of work and children and how to navigate peri-menopause and menopause naturally.

I realized I have the ability to reach people worldwide. I’ve had two guest appearances, one with Sirius XM Sex with Emily podcast and the widely recognized Shameless Sex. I’ve also been featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine and will appear in an upcoming Netflix special.

I’m proudest of my upcoming online class, Touch Feel Connect, where I will teach couples the benefits and techniques of Vulva-Vaginal Mapping. This makes the work more accessible and has a larger impact.

I host the only U.S. certification for Somatic Sexological Bodyworkers and am a board member of the Association of Certified Sexological Bodyworkers. I hold a Masters In Education and Certifications from the Institute of Somatic Sexology, among and countless others.,

When I’m not reigniting my clients’ romantic flames, you can find me on the back of my husband’s motorcycle on our city adventures to find good music and even better food.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Camping in the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico. Setting up my dolls next to the river, where I helped my grandma gets things ready for meals because I was too young to go off riding horses with my older cousins.
