Today we’d like to introduce you to Cilga Yesilyaprak.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am originally Turkish, and I lived there until I was 18. I played tennis professionally since I was seven years old and this led me to spend a lot of time away from home. This helped me gain my independence as I always wanted to be away from home and discover myself. I moved to London for university and I graduated from the University of the Arts London in Media Communications and Arts with a minor in Sociology and Psychology. Then I moved to New York City, where I worked as an art director for Abbott NYC, a start-up designer fragrance brand. After proving I have a keen eye for design and detail, I moved to Los Angeles to further refine my design skills with a degree in Design Communication Arts at UCLA. After graduating from UCLA, I worked for ArtLife and started freelancing for some other fashion brands. Word got around and more people started recommending me to others who were in need of finding a graphic designer that reliably delivers the work punctually in L.A. I took on a reasonable number of consistent clients. Then I started thinking bigger and realized that I needed more people on my team. So I approached a classmate of mine from UCLA- whom I trusted and appreciated his design skills. I told him about my vision for Enyo: a one-stop creative design studio that offers creative consultancy, design and development services that brands need at an affordable price so that everyone could bring their dreams into reality. He loved the idea, and we started our own little business.
Has it been a smooth road?
I do not believe that there is a smooth and easy road, especially when you are trying to bootstrap your business. There are millions of companies, brands and products that offers what I do and were established way before I was. So the struggle to put our name there as a good designer is REAL. Unfortunately, we live in a world where everything from your success to discovery is based on digital marketing and PR, and that requires a lot of money. There are many creative companies that put the extensive amount of money in such services that offer the same services as ENYO STUDIOS. However, their search engine interacts with clients better, so there you go. Thats my main struggle. I am available as a designer and people find me the traditional way – word of mouth, not because I spent any money on promotions. I still believe I am getting there, possibly slower than I expected, yet I know someday my expert skills in visual identity design and recognition will create an inspirational and attractive environment for a discerning audience.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Enyo Studios – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Hmm, lets start with what I like least about L.A. I think it is the city structure and plan which is very limited for people who like to walk everywhere. Having lived in London and New York, I used to walk everywhere – but I mean from the east to west of the city regardless of the weather conditions as it was like my meditation, I love getting lost and strolling in big cities. Seeing places and faces are my way of resetting my anxious mind. Now you may think, “If you like to walk go hike” yet, climbing the same mountain doesn’t give me the same pleasure. Another thing I do not like about L.A is probably that it doesn’t have a proper subway and that everywhere is so widespread that most of the days you are stuck in place because you get lazy to sit in the traffic for an hour.
But what I love about my city is that the weather is always right, I think it is the heart of the creatives in the world, it is highly diverse and art is highly appreciated here like no other. Palm trees, beach life, wide range of restaurants and cuisines, hippy and chilled people, happy smiling tanned faces.
