Meet Ashlan Christoph of Muse House Retreat in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlan Christoph.

Ashlan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Muse House was the birthing of a vision that came to me about two years ago when I began diving deeper into the subconscious realm of how I wanted to expand my current business. I had been guiding my current gift shop, Serendipity, into a spiritual realm and felt it truly needed its own space as I wanted Serendipity to remain true to itself and not confuse the message. I knew the expansion of this next endeavor would fall more in line with my spiritual side and the connection of others in the community.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been an absolute learning experience! I have owned my first business for eight years but, bought it already “set up”. This has been a balancing act on all levels! The costs involved in starting up the business from scratch to the managing of the two spaces, staff, merchandise and healers, it’s a lot! I very much wanted partnership for this second space and in not having that financially it really has stretched my business skills and perseverance, yet I see the immense expansion of possibilities for the overall larger picture. It’s been a beautiful, yet stressful, process.

Please tell us about Muse House Retreat.
Muse House specializes in bringing healing modalities to the collective community. So many humans are waking up to an ever-changing world and they are seeking to know more and explore. This is the pushing forward of human consciousness and connection is very much essential to this expansion. I wanted to bring together some of my personal healers and teachers and help to make them accessible to the greater community. I also, use tools in my everyday life, so it was expanding that offering as well. Bringing in the tools that connect to our senses as well, aromatherapy, incense, crystals, and BOOKS! I absolutely love books and the knowledge they convey and the power they can give to us all. My journey started in my 20’s with A New Earth and that book absolutely spoke to me in a way nothing else ever had.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have brought on someone to help put more boundaries on the financial end. I was pretty good with the allocation of money but, I definitely overspent in ways I didn’t need to. Also, on the hiring end, I now know to listen to my gut intuition more!
