Los Angeles based celebrity hair colorist Matt Rez specializes in all techniques of hair coloring including the art of balayage. His everlasting passion for painting and the art of hair color led him to cosmetology school in Portland, Oregon. After moving to Los Angeles, Matt attended the Vidal Sassoon Academy for advanced hair color techniques and attends continuous color education courses to stay updated on his craft with the latest hair color trends, products, and professional insider secrets. His work has been seen on celebrities such as Margot Robbie, Eiza Gonzalez, Chiara Ferragni, and Lili Reinhart to name a few. Matt’s work can be seen in Allure, Vanity Fair, Elle, Glamour, Vogue, Marie Claire, Nylon, InStyle, Newbeauty, Cosmopolitan and other major publications and mediums. He made an appearance on the hit talk show “The Real,” was featured on ABC News and The Huffington post, and was mentioned on the red carpet in various ceremonies including the Oscars. Currently, Matt sees clients at Mèche salon in Beverly Hills, CA.

I am a hair colorist and I strive to do color that looks natural. I do not do wild or fashion color work, but hair color that Looks natural or could be natural, despite the starting point! I pride myself in putting the integrity of my clients’ hair first, and educate clients on how to take care of their post color services. Healthy hair is beautiful hair!
