Meet Jamie Poe of Poe and Co. in Westside, Santa Barbara and Ojai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Poe.

Jamie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been in the kitchen for my whole adult life, attending culinary school out of high school and working as a line cook in NYC restaurants. I then transitioned into the Private Chef world and after a decade+ of working in homes and in special events catering, I wanted to pivot into an already natural extension of what we do: a meal delivery service. I acquired my husband, Jayson Poe, who is also a chef, to join forces. When I found out that I was pregnant, we needed to figure out how two chefs could work and have a baby, so the meal delivery service really does blend our passions for food and family. It’s been really rewarding to hear feedback from our members- how lifechanging it’s been for after-school dinner.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For as long as the two of us have been in the business, we’re baffled by how many mistakes we make along the way. Especially now that we run our own company, there are so many new curveballs. Nothing is linear.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Poe and Co. – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Poe and Co. is a boutique catering, private chef, and meal delivery company. We provide food for the party of someone’s dreams and specialize in intimate gatherings and dinner parties. Our meal delivery service is essentially private chef meals delivered to your door. We’re big on local and seasonally-driven ingredients, no waste, and convenience- so our dinners are packaged in reusable glass, which is different than anyone we’ve seen. Our menus reflect the modern family: approachable and balanced, think comfort food with a bit of sophistication- the type of food you’d want to come home to after a long day.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We’re excited about the future and have some fun projects in the works. We’re also looking forward to expanding our meal delivery service to have desserts, lunch options, snacks, and perhaps some additional delivery days.

Pricing:

  • Poe To Go Meal Delivery- weekly minimum of $120
  • $100 annual fee for the meal service
  • Catering and private chef- custom quotes
