Meet Trailblazer Thalia Ayres Randolph

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thalia Ayres Randolph.

Thalia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Toronto and introduced to alternative healing from a very young age, my grandmother and mother practiced yoga, meditation and reiki and my godmother is a shamanic healer. I watched and learned from them and along the way I picked up tools to help in my own healing throughout life. The healing arts have always been a big part of our way of living but I never thought that it would turn into my life purpose and a career path. When I struggled to find my passion after college, I decided to take some time off and moved to South Africa to do my own self-guided retreat in 2012. I wanted to rediscover myself away from everything I knew to see what would naturally arise. After months of deep contemplation, silence, meditation, and self-healing, I truly had the embodying realization that “I am love”. The mental shift that occurred in this process inspired me to investigate the different ways in which healing can occur naturally, guiding me to move to Arizona to study from various master teachers and healers.

After completing a series of healing arts certifications, I decided to stay in Arizona to continue teaching yoga, meditation, reiki, sound healing and spiritual coaching which all led me to become an ordained interfaith minister. I knew at that point this part of my life was no longer just an interest and that I would be in service to humanity to share all I know within the realm of alternative healing for the rest of my life. When the time felt right, I moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to expand my practice in both group and private settings. Currently, I’ve been led to explore yet another pathway and have started the process of becoming an End of Life Doula. The journey never ends, it only continues and I couldn’t be more excited to add this as an offering to better serve and reframe the way we look at death and dying as a culture in the west. If you had told me that this was going to be my life path seven years ago… I would have thought you were crazy. Even to this day, I have my moments where I’m in shock that this is the way things have unfolded because I never went into it with a plan. Looking back, it all seems to make perfect sense but at the time everything felt completely random. Many people had their doubts and did not understand where I was going, what I was doing and why I didn’t want to follow something more conventional or trendy. However, I firmly believe that when you do the work to stay in mind-body-spirit alignment, get out of your own way, and not only listen but actually follow and take action towards your hearts calling, then that is the moment when you touch upon destiny and a higher purpose.

Has it been a smooth road?
Life in itself is nothing like a smooth road and thats the beauty of the experience. The biggest piece of advice I have is to never try and rush timing. We cannot possibly know the biggest expression of who we are with our thinking mind. We have to leave ourselves open and make room for the spirit of life to take a lead at times. There is a power in divine timing and right timing. When our mind starts to get fixated on problems outside of ourselves, that’s when we need to go within and deal with what is arising internally. Our outer world is a reflection of our internal world. Many people, no matter their profession, want to skip that part. What happens is we stay connected to the world of our ego, and I have to tell you, your ego will not guide you to express the highest version of yourself. Along the way, I’ve had many hurdles, many pauses where I would wonder if I was on the right path, and often any time I felt that way I was losing focus and getting too wrapped up in the little details of trying to control my surroundings or present situation. Sometimes, we get too wrapped up in competition, in feeling like we need to be an overnight success. Or we get overwhelmed that there are too many things we want to do, or that it will all cost too much money. You have to take it one day, one project, one moment at a time.

Most often, students find me on a weekly basis at the DEN Meditation leading classes in meditation, sound, and reiki, and join me monthly for my CBD Soundbath™️. Educating and spreading awareness about the medicinal benefits and uses of CBD is another passion of mine. In addition, I curate and host retreats and see private clients for one on one healings, combining all of the modalities I’ve studied to suit their needs. My clientele is extremely diverse and comes to me for a variety of reasons, from big life shifts to energy work to helping people move through illness and disease with grace. At the heart of it all, it’s about coming back to a space of peace and alignment. The overall mission I have is to ignite seeds of light within the hearts of every living being and that in order to transform our communities at large, we must first start from within. I’m very excited that we live in a time where alternative healing modalities are becoming more and more popular and that people are finding their way back to their ancestral roots to heal. There’s nothing new about this work, however, for a long time, it has been discredited by modern science because of a lack of research. That is all shifting now, for example as we see vibrational sound therapy (sound healing) being used in hospitals as an alternative to chemotherapy, which stems from the ancient sound healing traditions of the Himalayas for thousands of years. This work helps to empower everyone in realizing how they can reclaim their sense of health and wellbeing and in turn have a much deeper understanding of themselves, the people around them and their impact in the world.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
Be open to your path taking its own shape and form. It’s important to have a vision, but the way in which we reach that highest version of ourselves is not up to us to decide how we will get there. Your journey may look different than what you had imagined and usually, it’s always better than what we can conceive on our own! If you’re an entrepreneur it takes time to make your passion a full-time career. You have to keep building alongside whatever else you’re doing to support yourself, which will lead you to a point where it can be your main focus. The goal shouldn’t be the destination, it’s what lies beyond the destination, it’s the journey in itself that gives your life meaning. Above all else, we must know the deeper WHY behind what we are pursuing. There’s no point in any of it and you will not achieve happiness at the end of your life if your goal does not serve something greater than yourself. From the moment you were born, you have a divine purpose. The more you get to know your innermost self and touch upon the true nature of your existence, you can connect to the collective consciousness to make this world a better place. I feel everyone is ready to hear this message.
