Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Johnson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jeremy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We moved to Los Angeles seven years ago to start a church for the dreamers. We know that LA is filled with creatives, and wanted them to have a place to dream again, in a city where their dreams may have been crushed. We started off with 12 people, meeting on the beach, and have grown to four services every Sunday in a nightclub in the middle of downtown Los Angeles with around 700 in attendance. We are here to love this city until they ask why.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is always struggles when you are a pioneer, paving a path that no one has ever gone before. Naming our church Fearless LA, many of those in our church have had a battle with fear along the way. We believe that a scared world needs a Fearless Church, so we constantly choose to move forward in the face of fear.
Please tell us about Fearless LA.
Fearless LA is a church in downtown Los Angeles. Within our church, we have apparel that we utilize all profit to go directly back into loving on our city through weekly outreaches. We also have a coffee shop within our church, along with events all throughout the week. Our church longs to be a family to all people, seeing the best in each individual and encouraging them to live in their full potential.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The quality that we feel is most important to our success as a church is obedience. We believe that success is obedience. It’s being obedient to the mission that has been placed on our life. We are not in a competition but live according to an assignment to love more and fearless.
