Meet Christina Wehbe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Wehbe.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
In my first year in college, I was offered a portrait class in my photography curriculum. I picked Hollywood Style Portraiture as my theme, and a immediately recognized what my calling was and the impact I could bring to other’s success. I graduated with a BFA in Photography from the Institute of Art.

Through portrait photography, I photograph men who are looking to reveal their strength, confidence, and approachability through lifestyle portraiture or business headshots. I photograph women who are looking to see themselves for who they are. I photograph mothers who reconnect to themselves and realize it’s OK to be fabulous and to come back to yourself after years of having little babies.

Please tell us about your art.
My promise is to take the best portrait that you’ve ever seen of yourself!

When the people I photograph see themselves through my lens, there is a shift in their confidence. We are all a little uncomfortable with the camera, and my job is to help you overcome it and to have an Uplifting experience along with the gorgeous photos.

I photograph men and women. I especially enjoy photographing people who are looking to transform their image for fabulous personal branding and stunning photographs. The makeovers we do at the studio are a full magazine photoshoot experience. As you go through the portrait process with me, you’ll enjoy an experience at the level of an A-list celebrity would receive on Oscars night.

Business portraits, or headshots or corporate headshots they are our gateway to the world! You will look spectacular, and your photos will be brag-worthy.

What do you think about the conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
Starting a business from scratch is literally the hardest thing that I’ve done in my life, yet I think it’s the most rewarding thing that anybody can do for themselves. I learned so much about myself throughout this process, I grew up as a woman, as a businesswoman, as a friend, and as a daughter. If I have to do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing. The struggles I went through range from self-doubt to lack of experiences to lack of support in an oversaturated industry. Luckily, I am the persistent woman that I am, and I kept reading, shooting, creating and experimenting with photography styles, editing styles, business models, systems and marketing method that either failed miserably or felt that it was just the right thing for my business and personality.

Hiring a photographer is such a personal decision, my clients hire me for my style and not for a cookie-cutter product and photos, so with every photoshoot that I create, I challenge myself, and I make sure I give more than I get. Finishing school with a BFA degree in photography was tough while working full time and maintaining a lifestyle, but now that I look back at it, I smile with gratitude to that little girl who didn’t know what she was getting into.

I fell in love so with photography and creating images so much that I didn’t want to quit even when things seemed hopeless, now I’m happy I pulled through the hard times because it’s been the most rewarding thing that I’ve done for my clients. I love when my clients view their photos for the first time, sometimes, they cry just seeing how beautiful they look, most of my clients haven’t been photographed for years, and I struggled with getting them comfortable with my camera when I first started, but now I learned how to connect better and how to direct them in every step of the way. My goal was to make sure they are revealing themselves comfortably and showing confidence and the beauty of their souls through their eyes.
