Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Pearl.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lexi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My mom was an actress & my dad a magician. They moved to the canyon in the 70’s. Topanga is a beautiful supportive community. I started dancing and acting when I was three. Got a national commercial with bandaids-“ I’m stuck on bandaids cuz bandaids stuck on me”. Danced at the national flutist convention in San Diego. Started working at the Theatricum Botanicum, I been a company member for 30+ years. I graduated UCSB and danced professionally with companies like Diavolo Dance Theater, and toured the US, Canada, Mexico & Japan. 2002 I started working as an Aerialist. Eric Newton & Dreya Weber provided me with incredible opportunity.
I performed in the Bahamas for six months, had a national “Fruit of the Loom” commercial and got to work with Cirque Du Soleil on Iris In LA. Enjoyed participating on a float for the rose bowl parade. A career highlight was performing at Obama’s inauguration with AntiGravity at the Neighborhood Ball. As an aerialists, I have toured Brazil and China and had the opportunity to work with many companies here in LA. Dream World Cirque I work with often. Also Way 2 Much Entertainment, Cirque Berzerk, E Plus entertainment, Zen Arts, A Max entertainment amongst others.
Most recently I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work for Sid & Marty Krofft as a creature suite performer. I stepped into the classic HR Pufnstuf as well as Marty tree and the reboot of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters on Amazon, I played Mama. I’m currently working on the Jim Carrey show, Kidding.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My parents split up when I was about three. My mom raised me on her own. She met my stepdad when I was 12. We had very little money and I had a hard time in school. Later I discovered I am dyslexic and maybe ADHD, but I was never really tested. As much of a challenge it is, I am grateful for my creativity and ability to think outside the box. Although spelling and sentence structure Still eludes me. My dad passed away when I was 17 & I lost my mom three years ago. They are missed but with me in spirit.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
As an artist, I get the opportunity to create a tangible experience out of the invisible. If I had a catchphrase, that would be it. I’m proud to step into any situation and start to create. I love the endless manifestation being an artist gives! I am one of a kind, the world is an oyster and I am a pearl. Lexi Pearl!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As we head towards 2020, I am hopeful for a positive shift and the world as a whole to elevate its consciousness. My plan is to continue to pursue what makes my heart sing and listen to the opportunity’s around me. I am excited for tomorrow’s tomorrow and open for what is yet to come.
