Meet Morgan Wray of Wray in Crenshaw District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Wray.

Morgan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m from Los Angeles, CA! From the neighborhood known as the 60s! Born and raised! Moved to Leimert Park around eight years old and was living there up until 22! When I speak of my homeland in my songs, I am referring to the Crenshaw District, A Real LA Native. I started rapping June of 2018! All started from me playing around with rapping back when I was in high school and my close friends always knew I had it in me!

Around this time last year, my brother kept watching this Female rapper by the name of “Kamaiyah” from the Bay Area videos saying “This could be you! This could be US!” Knowing that she had all her close boys and homegirls in her videos and was actually hard as hell, this could be a lane for me as well! Few weeks later I finally got my butt in the studio where I first recorded “Big Bank Freestyle” Seeing everyone loving it, I instantly knew only way was UP from here.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, as being in a lane where people don’t often pay attention to Female artists, I feel I have to promote my music 20xs harder as well as coming hard each time I drop for people to really listen! Discovering that people you’ve always supported doesn’t show love in return was one major struggle for me in the beginning up until I realized, I had to start focusing on the ones supporting and not the ones who aren’t! Other than that, things are going good, it’s all on me at this point!

What else should we know?
Besides me being an upcoming Artist, I am a Behavioral Health Technician working at a House for recovering alcoholics as well as a Paraprofessional working at an Elementary school with kids that has autism! I Also run my own Promotion business called “Wray’s Promo” where I promote Businesses, Brands, Music, YOU NAME IT! YOU PAYING, I’M PROMOTING lol Always been known to show nothing but support and love to everyone! So starting that business made me want to see if people will do the same in return and so far it’s been going GREAT! Me having all these hustles in motion shows myself Anything I put my mind to, I can make it happen! I love helping people, I have a big heart for kids, love supporting, & love doing music! Think me having so much Rollin and not just being focused on one thing, “I want it all, that’s why I strive for it!”

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I have plenty of ideas on investing! Far as helping out with others to making sure me and my family will always be straight! Building my brand! Getting everything I have mapped out, just got to keep going for it and let everyone witness what I’ve worked for.
