Meet Alyssa Lynn Malmquist

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Lynn Malmquist.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My name is Alyssa Lynn Malmquist and I am the author of the book “Put The Damn Phone Down.” I’ve worked as a freelance and contributing writer for the last 3 years including Elite Daily and Thought Catalog. “Put The Damn Phone Down” was my response to the smartphone epidemic as it is a reflection of my determination to push people to release their dependence on their devices by practicing balance in the current growing age of technology. I also dive into how the digital world has impacted self-image, sexism, and most intensely, communication.

I hope this book can make some noise and start a movement by getting people to limit their screen time and making the effort to step back into reality.

Right now, I am working on getting my second book published.

My book has been featured in UsWeekly

My book is available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Put-Damn-Phone-Down-Disconnect/dp/1945796979/?tag=thougcatal0c-20

I also produced an Instagram series inspired by my book called Generation Follow Me: https://www.instagram.com/generationfollowme/

And here is my website: www.alyssamalmquist.com

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It took me over a year to write my book. Life and other work will always get in the way, so I had to manage my time wisely. Getting my book published was another obstacle, but I ended up finding a great fit.

Please tell us about Alyssa Lynn Malmquist.
I’m most proud of my book “Put The Damn Phone Down” as it goes against the grain. Right now we are living in a digitally dominant world and I want us to not forget the reward that comes from authenticity. Today, alteration, deception, and filters are being rewarded. I hope that my book can just get at least one person to look at their behavior and see how they can better nourish their brains with organic contact.
