Meet Jaime Rutt of Body Bombshell in Studio City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Rutt.

Jaime, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am the owner and creator of Body Bombshell, an online resource for women to build their confidence, strengthen their bodies, and achieve their lifestyle goals.

With over 20 years of training women of all sizes, professions, and backgrounds, I came to realize that as women, we all have similar desires. We want to create a lifestyle that allows us to take care of our feminine spirit AND our bodies without compromise.

I’ve really connected with professional women that feel like they have to neutralize their femininity. I started out professionally as an engineer, working for the automotive industry when it was still a male dominant field. No matter how successful I became, I was made to feel like I didn’t belong in the “boy’s club.”

After a couple of years of playing the game and losing my feminine spirit, I made the decision to leave that career path and follow my passion for teaching Pilates and dance.

One of my “aha moments” came when I started teaching burlesque classes to women that were experiencing similar issues in their careers and lifestyles. I noticed that no matter where I was in the world, there was a tribe of women that had lost touch with their feminine, sexy side.

I saw that women needed to transform emotionally as well as physically. It was a common understanding that in our quest to be educated, successful, and equal to our male counterparts, we had to suppress a part of our feminine side. Now, in the changing tides, women are ready to unleash their feminine spirit and connect with their inner bombshell!

As this sexy, powerful, Bombshell tribe continues to grow, I am committed to creating an online world to empower women to share their stories, inspire each other, and reconnect with their feminine, bombshell spirit.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road of life is never smooth. I believe it’s just controlling how you react to the bumps. Are you going to freak out with every bump? Or find an expert to help you repair the road? I’m a repair the road kinda girl!

When you own your own business, there are so many learning curves. The hardest decision I made professionally was to leave my corporate job and become self-employed. Nowadays, it is more common. Entrepreneurship is almost glorified, but 20 years ago, this was not the case.

My friends and family thought I was a bit crazy but, working in the environment I was in, I knew I was dying inside. A common question among friends and family was, “when are you going to get a real job?” I would just respond with, “my money is just as green as yours!”

Truth be told, in the beginning, I missed paid vacations, sick days, and a matching 401k, but eventually, I found great business advisors to help me set up my own models. That was pivotal.

But… Paid vacations… I still miss those. lol

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Body Bombshell – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Right now I am busy building new online content to help women achieve their overall lifestyle goals through self-care and confidence workshops. I’ve been putting a lot of time and research into what modern women are really searching for right now.

In September, I will be offering new online bombshell workshops that will make your life easier and stress-free! When I’m not working on that, you will find me training clients one-on-one, either in their homes or in my favorite studio in the valley.

If there is one thing that sets me apart from others, it’s my undying love of fitness. I practice what I preach. If I am lecturing a client on a topic, you can be sure that I am checking myself on the same topic.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Likes about the city: 2 things:
#1 The weather Yep, I said it. I’m a 72 and breezy kinda girl. So I luck out, like half the year!

#2 Fitness Everywhere
Hiking, surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, innovative fitness classes! I always feel so lucky to be outside all year long. You can move your body everyday!

Dislike about our city: 2 things:
#1. Traffic.
I don’t think I need to explain. We have all been sitting on the 405 on a Friday for 4hrs at some point in our life! The worst.

#2. Un-Friendly people.
I’m from the midwest. We are super chatty and friendly. I have lost count of the dirty looks I get when I just strike up normal chit chat in line at the local grocery store. I mean, I just said “HI!”
